Turning existing attic conversion into proper bedroom?

We have just bought a house where the attic has been converted, though not officially an extra bedroom - at the moment it can only be classified as a storage room. Could anyone please advise what we would need to do to officially turn it into an extra bedroom and how much it could cost? It's an inverted V shape ceiling…

It's an inverted V shape ceiling with Velux window. There is a proper staircase up to it and there's 2 doors each side of the room to access the eaves for storage.
