I actually enjoyed the commentary. I think Rogan is great for exciting the viewer, but the British pairing worked very well, especially considering it was their first show. Very calm, breaking down the fight fairly and getting excited when the really big hits connect, as opposed to shouting their heads off at flurries that miss the intented target, like Goldberg and Rogan often do.

Jones thinks gus should fight cormier and then the winner gets a shot. Is sonnen still selling those bones pizzas with extra chicken?

Pickett talked a lot of smack after being out punched clearly. I wouldn't be surprised if Dana didn't give them FOTN because of his arrogance. Great show by Seery, two Irish beasts in the UFC now!

Watched last nights event on Channel 5, it was odd to say the least.

Started at 21:00 with Guillard/Johnson, the Gustaf/Manuwa then they went to the Picket/Seary fight, which they started in the 2nd rd?????

In between fights some bozo was talking to Forrest, who just sounded punch drunk.

Disgrace howw Gustaf/Manuwa got FoTN, that was Seary/Pickett in my eyes, and i only seen 2 rounds

Agreed, I would have called Gus's a performance of the night but there was no back and forth where as Seery/Pickett was a great MMA back and forth, Grappling Vs Striking. Seems like a handy way for UFC to line stars pockets without having to guarantee it with a good contract........

Any word if he got an unofficial bonus following the fight?

If not then another twitter campaign towards Dana wouldn't be a bad idea. He got robbed of the official one.

Haha, I'd say it's the green tinted glasses, sloppy stand up and poor takedown defence/ineffective grappling does not a fight of the night make! What the hell would he get a bonus for? Was not a bad fight and seery gave a good account of himself for his ufc debut but if this guy was not irish that fight/he would not get a mention in here!

So you think a 6 minute, relatively one sided fight that ends in a TKO is a better fight than a back and forth barn-buster between a title contender and a massive underdog in which both fighters are rocked and swinging for the fences?

Don't be contrarian just for the sake of it.

I don't think it's just the Irish who thought that should have been FOTN.

Normally it's these kinds of fights that not only get called Fight of the NIght, but sometimes Fight of the Year. See Hendo v Shogun!

The fight was a very entertaining one and it was, in my opinion, the best fight of the night.

I post and view a fair bit on both UK and American sites and the general consensus on all of them is that Pickett vs Seery was the learning Fight of the Night rather than Gustafsson vs Manuwa.

Since when was a fight of the night about properly applied techniques? If that were the case wouldn't someone who successfully grinds a fighter down against the cage get FOTN? Even if it weren't FOTN I can't see how Gus v Manawa was.

With the fight pass being introduced i can see a lot more bonuses going to fighters that the UFC may want to promote a bit more and not the actual FOTN, cause lets be honest Seery & Pickett was the FOTN, back & forth action with no one taking a step back!

If i seen that a fight got the FOTN bonus i would watch that first.

Yeah, I kinda took it that way too.

No PPV money, no mainstream exposure through fox...give the kid some cash to keep him happy.

So by your reckoning one of the bests fights of all time (Griffin v Bonnar I) isn't worth shit??

Some of the best fights i've ever seen have just been 2 guys trying to take each others heads off for 15mins, hardly anything technical about it. Sometimes it just happens

Yoshihiro Akiyama vs. Alan Belcher UFC 100 sticks out for me.I was not expecting much from that fight but was a war.Like of Hendo Shogun great fights but we all knew they would be great fight

Leben / Akiyama was much better. People gave out being the co-main event. Leben came in on short notice and replaced Wanderlai. So, no one expected it to be decent given Leben had little time to prepare for Akiyama. Leben was just off a fight two weeks earlier.

What happened, one of the best fights I have ever seen. An absolute war not just on the feet but on the ground aswell. Unreal stuff.
