I know that this is more consumer issues or whatever, but I'm buying car stuff off ebay and I don't have a paypal account, so I'm paying by credit card. I contacted the seller asking how to give them my credit card details for payment and they said to ring them and give them my details over the phone. Have any of ye gave ye're details over the phone. Would ye advise against it or does it matter?
Seller is on ebay 10 years and has 99.3% positive feedback.

It's not that difficult to set up a paypal account and link it to your current account so it takes it out of your account as you buy something. Would probably be the safest bet.

    It would be handy alright.

The non-transfer of tax might be a bit of a pain for Irish motorists heading over to pick up a car.

If you buy it the same day as they sell it might be still taxed for the day, long enough for you to get to hollyhead.

If that was brought in here I'd find a way to justify a V8 again fairly lively!

If our crowd started the direct debit thing, there shouldn't be a surcharge for paying monthly. Direct debits go through automatically whereas now if you pay every 3/6 months you are charged more for "administration". The surcharge is also an incentive to buy the full year, I know but a direct debit is such an efficient way of doing it. I just paid over 800 quid for tax until August and I feel rotten having to do it.

The thing with direct debit now is SEPA which means that the person who is paying the money has a LOT more control over the money going out. For example, they can reclaim that money within 30 days with no questions asked.

    500,000 miles on the clock - 2002

That's a great video. It was a very smart move by skoda to add it to the test fleet. I have to agree with him when he talks about how they just cruise along. After driving the 05 one my parents have you'd sit into it and drive 150km and feel like you had just gone to the local shop or something the seat and adjustable arm rest just makes it so comfy.

Tbh before I drove that car last week I had no interest or like in it and got in to drive it being full sure I wouldn't like it and that it would be like a shed or something to drive. And after driving it for the week I was so impressed with it I'm getting it within the next 6 months and probably a lot sooner :) they were always going to sell it in the next few months but after driving it I got them to put my name done for it as I couldn't let such a nice car be sold. Tbh I can't wait to get it :D

Its made by Ronseal, called Fencelife.
I think that shade is called "Red Cedar"

Take about 2 hours to dry.

And it'll be a right pain to apply given how dry the fence is.

If they brought DD in it'll bring in more revenue. Say you sell your car mid month, if tax is non transferable, will you get half that months tax refunded or do you lose the lot? similarly, would the buyer only pay part of the months tax or the full thing(potentially meaning double the revenue earned from the one car that month if you get me).

How do you ad pics on adverts ?

not working for me the guide etc

Which or whether, if they reduced the rates and capped the highest rate at say 1200, they would get in a LOT more revenue from tax and petrol because more people would be able to afford it. The last time I said this, a few people said that they had cars sitting up and rotting away because they couldn't afford to run them and were unable to sell them.

It's amazing that in this day and age, they didn't see that people just can't afford these kind of things at the rates they are/were. Instead of reducing the cost, they increased it and I guarantee there's way fewer big engined cars on the road because of it.

No car is worth 1k+ to tax p/a in reality

Long term they are just backing themselves up against a wall, cap should be 800 or so

I fear that once I'm old enough to be insured on something 3.0+ there'll be very, very few left, and most of those probably being diesels :(.

I've been saying for ages that I want a Capri, I nearly got rid of the Wolseley once already but I just end up felling guilty and keep it.

I actually like the idea of a 1.6 Capri too :o

Its red, and is there a car thats more cool than a red Capri!?

Nothing. I really have to sell it. Missus is going mad, I have 3 cars - which is 2 too many really.

Must advertise it but dreading all the messers. Its realistically worth feck all despite being in great nick.

It's not like buying a manual Mercedes, and its considerably faster than the auto.
And automatic S types are rubbish :)

Depending on the condition of the Crapi I wouldn't consider that a bad deal at all.

    Imagine how I feel.....

Speaking of which, if I had the funds to tax that car I'd snap it up, the manual box really appeals to me! :D

    Are these any good?

    http://www.micksgarage.com/proddetails.aspx?pid=185164&pk=cf23f&gclid=CPKfyf_Si70CFcGx2wodflsAIA

    http://www.halfords.ie/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_11101_catalogId_15551_productId_899719_langId_-1_categoryId_212549

Micks garage ones look better, longer ramp, and cheaper but they are not in stock and have been out of stock for a good while as I have been thinking about getting them for quite some time.

The micksgarage ones look way sturdier.

There's a 10% discount code easily got for there btw if they have any other ramps.
