Tesco Mobile have launched both PAYG and Pay Monthly PAYG plans. The stand out offer is the PAYG 15GB for €15 when you set it against €22 for 15GB on a 3 12 month contract and €20 for 10GB with the likes of Vodafone contracts.

There is a 30 day contract of 50GB for €30 SIM only. It compares well with 3's 60GB for €35 plus its on the much faster o2 network than the poor 3 one at present (I know as I am on the 3 Broadband Pro contract). They have not put up details of their contract for the Mifi device yet.

Are they accepting Supervalu and Dunnes vouchers for this too?:pac:
Nice to see a bit more competition to the market now.

I asked on the TM forum as to what happened to that 50GB for €30 offer and the only response I got back is that it may be on offer at some time in the future but that for now they are only offering the plans listed i.e. no greater than 15GB. Bizarre.

Its going to be a big flop if this is all they are offering.

Tether? It is a mobile broadband option, not a mobile data add on. This is used with a personal WiFi router.

Yes. If they were actually offering anything, which they are not at the moment. They pulled the whole lot off their website.

TM rep says they have had performance issues on the website and will be putting the broadband back up again shortly.

If someone in your family has a student card (or is even a student!!) then it might be worth checking out 02s student deal. You have to sign up for 12 months but its a tenner a month for 15gigs and if you go over your limit its essentially a tenner for 15gigs thereafter too. Kinda comparing apples with oranges as its a contract but might suit some. Now if only my unlimited fixed line broadband could do something above 1.8 meg I wouldn't need all this.

Seems a good deal for PAYG. I was under the impression it's difficult to unlock dongles though, O2 don't seem to want to unlock them.

I had a three mobile Mifi dongle, after 2 years wanted it unlocked , three said they don't give you a code to unlock it, took it to a shop in Dublin CC and paid €10, took 2 minuets to unlock.

Must look into it here, thanks. Between topping up with €15 a month for free any network calls, and using the €15 for internet on the mobile and texts, and this offer, €30 a month goes a pretty long way with Tesco mobile.

Some of the wifi hotspots are not very good. I think I got an e585 off O2 with the student deal and I found I had much better mobile signal and wifi reached further by using a cheap android phone with wifi tethering turned on.
