I agree that 1200 isnt that much. The last London blow out I had with friends I spent 1800 - and didnt even buy champagne

Difficult but I'll try. Avoiding foreign travel, purchasing anything that you can keep, philanthropy, anything illegal or overpriced drinks etc that no one ever really buys:

    1. Taxis/limo hire for the night €100
    2. Tasting menu in eg guilbauds €120
    3. Fancy wines with dinner €75
    4. Cohibas and brandy €50
    5. Pints €20
    6. Neil young gig €80
    7. Pints at gig €30
    8. Casino and more drinks €100
    9. Lillies or legs or somewhere for outrageously overpriced wines or whatnot, including buying stupid pints for randomers etc €200
    10. Strippers, do they still exist in Ireland? €50
    11. Personal butler for the evening €200
    12. Rent some kind of tux €80
    13. Need to spend €95 on something...hotel room maybe?

Doesn't sound like that great a night when it comes to it. Obviously drugs or bottles of cheval blanc or flights to Moscow could soak up that money quicksmart.

Look, it's your money to do with as you like, and I won't judge. But FFS you give these people a quid or 2, not a tenner at a time!

    Right,

So yee in AH seem like a rational, level-headed bunch..

    So advise me.

    You wise ****ers.

Myself and a couple of mates are right at a quarter-life crisis right now and chatting about getting through it. Given that we're at that "comfortable but definitely not rich" stage one idea was to withdraw about €1200 each and live like lower-league footballers for the night.
I have a general idea of whats gonna happen, but I'd like your best itineraries.

    Sound

Head over to visit Michael Schumacher in hospital in France is it??
That would be a story to tell and it's your good deed of the month done

I actually bought a $300 belt in one of their stores one morning in a fit of hangover-induced madness, strutted down the Strip like Gordon Gekko that evening, waddled back to the hotel with my trousers round my ankles like Justin Bieber that night.:(

Why would you want to waste €1200 on one night out? Seriously, that is ridiculous. Book a holiday, at least your money would go further than being pissed away during one night.

Personally, I love champagne and good food but €1200 seems like madness. I've eaten in Michelin starred restaurants and spent no more than probably £500 on a night (special occasion, not weekly!) which I would still consider a lot!

Also, Quarter life crisis? Is this a thing now? You're 25 ffs!

    • fly to Munich €200 return
    • rent a couple of nice cars for 2 days. Avis or Hertz can rent an M5 or 911 for circa €300 per person based on two people sharing cost.
    • High speed run down the Autobahn!
    • Into Austria for some twisty mountain roads!
    • Either stop in somewhere like Kitzbuhel in Austria or keep going to northern Italy e.g Cortina
    • Go skiing \Snowboarding during the day (€100) and to a casino in the evening (can be as cheap or as expensive as you like).
    • petrol? €100 each
    • 2 nights accommodation €200 each based on sharing a room
    • twisty mountain roads back into Germany
    • High speed run UP the Autobahn!

There are 20-year-olds having better nights out on sneaky shoulders and 3 yokes that they got for €25.

Hmm I wouldn't think much of spending that money puchasing a few trafficked women or men or even both (dependent on what your tastes are), enriching some fuck of a drug dealer by buying his wares or filling the pockets of a publican only to spew it up on the pavement outside the pub door to keep some public sector worker in a job.

Use it for good and not stupidity.

It might help if you gave the KIND of things you are into doing or trying. Might round down the suggestions a bit.

If you are into the beer and hookers thing like a few have suggested then you _could_ do worse than Germany. Prostitution is legal there which leads to a less seedy and dangerous feel to the whole thing. We have a friend there who confided in us once that she supplements her income with a bit of being a call out girl. She is a stunningly hot girl. She does it by word of mouth too. So close friends suggesting clients to her rather than her advertising.

But she tells us it is not a bad environment over there and since it is legal there is no chance of you drunkenly getting yourself in any legal trouble.

She is based in Stuttgart - which itself is not a bad destination for you. Some great restaurants there. I can recommend a great sea food and steak restaurant where you can drop a few quid. The Surf N Turf is to die for and its a high class joint. The "We do not do hand dryers or paper towels in the toilets - but silk napkins" type of place.

Some great bars and late night spots there too. And for your hang over in the morning you have the Canstatter Vasen mineral baths. An absolute joy when you have a throbbing head. As is a Haxe (knuckle of pork) in the middle of the park in a beer garden.

To drop a bit more money however you could take the shortish journey out to Baden Baden (or stop there from your ryanair flight on the way TO stuttgart.) and do a night there.

The selection of mineral baths there are even better again. There is also some great casinos which are good for dropping a few quid. You need your passport and a suit and tie to get in though - formal wear. But nice atmosphere. Make yourself feel like James Bond for a night :) Book that one in advance though for hotels as they can get very pricey. There are some hotels there that will take your entire 1200 budget and not even include breakfast. But you can get some really nice places in the 80-120 range too.

All the above said - If I was looking to blow time and money I do not think beer and hookers would be my thing. I have always wanted - for example - to go to one of those african projects where you put yourself up and then work for 2 weeks or a month or more. Help build a school - or some other facilities - bringing whatever your skill set is to bear on helping them. I would still love to do this some day but two gfs, nearly 2 children, a hound, and a job have left me short of the time. Though the girls have told me I should do it some day - maybe in the next 5 or so years - that they could cope without me for a month or two.

It would certainly leave you with a sense you had an amazing trip - stories to tell forever - and your money was well spent. I have a fascination with India too so another option for me would be to do some travel there if I wanted to blow some cash.

But yeah as I say - really depends what kind of things you want before we can give super specific advice.

I smell a lot of pants on fire in this thread!

Once a month I used to treat myself to a bath in Cristal surrounded by rose petals and candles. I call it a bubbly bath.

Unfortunatley one morning I woke up in the bath, it was somehow empty and I had a terrible hangover so that put an end to that.

As for this 'VIP area' nonsense; The only people bothered about access in everyday circumstances are the ones who aren't important, but want to feel they are.

Truly important people don't give a f*ck about a VIP area, unless there's a function being held in one.

I've always had more fun outside with the common folk.

Jaysus, I went out on Saturday night and only spent €1,415,873.68 so it was a pretty light evening.

Before you all ask what I spent it on, you know yourselves, dinner, drinks, tips, taxis and a kebab on the way home. That sort of thing.

All this hyperinflation lately has been crazy, the ECB really needs to stop printing Euro.
