I might be wrong but I don't think €1200 isn't *that* much. I'd usually get through 5 or 600 on a standard night out, all you'd need to bump that up to 1200 is a few extra bottles of champagne for example, easily done.

This needs a thread of it's own

How do you manage to spend 600 on nights out? Even if I was trying to spend that much I'd probably only make it to 400 before I'd have nothing else to spend it on

    Right,

So yee in AH seem like a rational, level-headed bunch..

    So advise me.

    You wise ****ers.

Myself and a couple of mates are right at a quarter-life crisis right now and chatting about getting through it. Given that we're at that "comfortable but definitely not rich" stage one idea was to withdraw about €1200 each and live like lower-league footballers for the night.
I have a general idea of whats gonna happen, but I'd like your best itineraries.

    Sound

You could always try Poland, you'd get a good week outta €1,200.

The male life expectancy in Ireland is roughly 78 years. As you are allegedly going through a 'quarter-life crisis', I deduce that you are approximately 19.5 years old.

The biggest 'crisis' you should be having at 19 1/2 is whether to save up for a PS4 or an XBone. Relax the cax.

Tell you what. I've had some of the best nights of my life in a decent Rave and a bag of Eddies in my pocket. Add in a decent european city and a couple of brassers lined up for afterwards and it would be some gig.

Well for you if you don't think a €1200 blowout isn't a big deal!

600 on a night out? Did you spend the night on Moet and Chandon?

And it's just a "standard" night out... Would love to know how much a non standard night out costs!

About €1200 I'd say, judging by the OP.

It all adds up. Few pints. Maybe get some food, few more pints, nightclub, taxis etc.
I'd say if I spend 600e on a night then over 200e of that would be tips

Not interested in stupidly expensive champagne... Reduces the size of the bag of coc***e I'd try and source

Still working out how many pints you'd have to buy to even get close to 100-200 euro to start with....seriously still doesn't add up at all, what's going on here? I smell BS.

It would drive me nuts to be so wasteful with money like that, to be honest.

    Strippers?

nah, not into strip clubs. Usually just lounge staff, taxi drivers, the chap with the aftershave in the jacks. Pretty standard stuff I'd have thought. The odd busker if we're passing one

Look, it's your money to do with as you like, and I won't judge. But FFS you give these people a quid or 2, not a tenner at a time!

You must have one weak ass bladder on ya man. How much ya tipping the aftershave guy each time?!

You'd have to be drinking over 30 pints to spend that much

    You'd die

I once spent €6000 on a night in London. Not including flights and accommodation.

forgot to mention restaurant as well. No harm in giving them a bit extra, the places we'd go regularly have great staff, great service but they're pushed hard as well. I don't mind giving them a few quid when they do a great job under pressure and in a tough atmosphere (busy, packed, loud, drunk people etc)

maybe a euro. Most of the tips would be in the local and if we go to a restaurant

€600 isn't that odd to me, depending on the person.

I know a few people like to just be seen with money and would easily spend €600 on a night out.

Buy drinks for loads of people and give massive tips, etc. thinking everyone's gonna be looking at them saying "jesus, did you see yer man there giving the €20 tip and sending the round of drinks over to that table? Fair fcuks to him, must be doing well for himself!" (in reality nobody cares and barely pass a mention if they do notice).

(i'm not saying lupe is like that, by the way, just that I know people like that and I would feel it's safe to say that's whats going through their head. Feel like their big shots or something. I dunno).

Personally, I don't drink much, if at all, so i'd only go out a handful of times a year. But if I start drinking im looking at a night out costing 250-300. I drink silly amounts, and then I become a really generous/silly drunk and start buying drinks for the people im with and multiple drinks for myself and such or anyone I get talking to. Enormous waste of money, but drunken me thinks im being nice and 'sure wouldnt i appreciate if someone did it for me'. Haha. :o

(edit: i'd never buy a pint though. Can't stand the taste/gas-yness of them. Vodkas and Gins, etc. for me, with shots and such. Only bought two pints in my life (a cider and a lager, to try 'em out). Never touched either since.
