Clearly not all women, I hate cats

I don't think it's a woman thing. Maybe it is. I'm a woman, and I don't have strong feelings for or against cats. More evidence needed.

I don't agree that it is women alone. As a man I can say that I too am obsessed with pussies.

I didn't say all women now...the ones that do just seem to be obsessed.

Cat pictures and sayings on walls, extraordinary amount of cat paraphernalia etc...

Dogs are way cooler than cats. Cats are kinda boring but dogs are fun.

Yup. What's the "smelly" thing about? Never encountered a cat that smells.

No, its the fact that they toilet inside. Its usually the house not the cat that smells.

If trained properly a cat won't either, we always had cats at home growing up and they always went to the door to show us that they wanted to go outside to toilet.

Dogs are dependant. much more hassle.

If you have kids, you don't wan't the problem of a dog.

Don't get me wrong, we had dogs as kids. diff time then. Women stayed at home & looked after the show.

Wouldn't work now in most households.

Price you pay in the modern world.

OK, well then the next time I need a wash I'll clear my throat, build up spittle and cover my body with it, let it dry off and consider it done. Then will hock up a ball of my own hair for good measure. Or not. I happen to dig cats, but they're a long way from "clean". They have the potential to transmit many more pathogens to humans than dogs do. We've been around the latter for so much longer so have accommodated our mutual immune systems to a much greater extent.

Many worry about Artificial Intelligence. I worry far more about Organic Idiocy.

Well that is very unusual in fairness. Most people have those disgusting boxes.

I probably am a bit obsessed with my cat. I just think he's as cute as a teddy bear and he's so playful he makes me laugh. The way cats can climb and leap from great heights is fascinating to me too.

Look lads, Id much rather if a burglar with eyes on me money and car keys walked into a German Sheperd in the dark of night than a Tabby

None of these things are the cats fault now are they?

I'm surprised the poor creatures tolerate us at all considering in the middle ages they were killed by our idiot forefathers based on nothing but superstition.

All too often in the bloody kitchen and then they think the cats are "cute" when they walk all over the kitchen surfaces.

I don't blame the cats, cats are generally pretty damn cool. It's more the self declared "Cat people" that freak me the fcuk out. They usually espouse the whole independent/selfish/emotionally remote vibe as being a good thing about cats. The cats seem to have little say in this however. Most cats I've met in my life have been actually very affectionate and "loyal" with it. Their owners seemed to miss, or ignore this however, in favour of their worldview.

TL;DR. cats are cool, cat people are all too often good examples of what they think a cat represents. See above. I usually prefer their cats to them. Given how many cats "stray" to other owners, I reckon the cats feel the same about this type.

I have to admit I'm mildly obsessed with my cat. But not cats in general. I actually disliked them before we got her. The only reason we got cat instead of dog was because when we first moved to Ireland we were renting and the rental had a small back yard. We got cat as thought Little Kiwi should have a pet to care for. Neither of us liked cats and were quite aprehensive before she arrived. Everyone in family fell instantly in love with lovely natured, funny, affectionate, sweet, clean cat. 18 months later bought house in country and got dog.

If house was on fire and I had to choose between saving cat or dog, it would be cat without a moments hesitation.

    Men like cats too.

This cat, for example, is a decorated war hero:
