Where i live is all bloody hills, now while not mad steep they can be long, im wondering should you run down a hill twice as fast as you run up it, as in if i ran a distance of 5 miles up hill and turn back and run downhill 5 miles, should it be at least twice as fast on way down , should it work out the same as running a flat 10 miles or would the hilly route always be slower

Go by effort, but a hilly course should take longer due to the fact you spend longer running at a slower pace than the faster pace.
