Is that the spin a wheel show? Is it as sh*t as it was 10+ years ago or have they modernised it? It was the ultimate in cringe TV when I used to live in Ireland but my parents somehow loved it.

The whole show has a look of the village hall about it.
They really are incredibly poor at producing their own stuff.I'm sure there must be a school somewhere that teaches how to be stiff and nervous for RTE work.

I think this was just a kite being flown about having Marty Morrissey fronting Winning Streak. The Winning Streakers are firmly linked in the public mind with Marty Whelan, and he does a super job in it in his avuncular way. I don't think the age group that the Streakers is pointed at even know who a young lad like Morrissey is. I like even the wae Marty is now using reading glasses to establish a link with the viewers. In any case Marty Whelan has only just had his youth restored for television with the work on his barnet.

Keep calm, ladies, and rejoice that you will have Marty Whelan on Winning Streak for many, many years to coem, I'd say.

The Late Late Show Eurosong thing showed how good Marty Whelan is, compared to, for example, Ryan Tubridy, in glossing over difficult situations in an emollient way. It would be stark raving daft for Teilifís Éireann to trade Marty in for Marty Morrissey - however good the younger man might be.

Are they out of their fuppin minds? I don't watch it but I have had occasion to a few times when someone I know is on. Never again though.

If I was invited on I would refuse and let them give my winnings to charity. Anything to avoid seeing that scary melty face. I have nitemares that are less frightening.
