Been checking out Golfs around 2011/12 and see a lot of different models.

Any quick link to the differences in S, Comfortline, Trendline, Highline, Match, R-Line, etc?

Some of those are uk trim levels

S includes aircon, steel wheels, heated mirrors

SE gets 16 inch alloys, auto lights/wipers, cruise control, mp3 CD

Uk match includes a different design of alloy wheel, leather multi-function steering wheel, digital radio, Bluetooth mobile phone connectivity, front and rear parking sensors and a touchscreen stereo system with six-CD changer in addition to SE equipment

GT gets lowered suspension and 17 inch wheels

Far as I know, Trendline is the irish base model.

    Thanks for that.

So are all MATCH's UK imports?

Irish line up, for the past few years has been:

    Trendline

    Bluemotion

    Comfortline

    Highline

    GTi / GTD

Match replaced comfortline in the run out of the MK5 model.

R-Line is a sporty version, roughly equivalent in price to a comfortline but lower spec, with a body styling kit.

Would that be runout on mk6 too?

Irish Match model was based on the Comfortline with upgraded equipment and was a run out Mk VI model.

Irish R-Line model was based on the Sportline with upgraded equipment again including a body kit.

S is a UK spec similar to the basic Trendline here. SE would be similar to Comfortline here.

Highline would be the top spec regular Golf.

Bluemotion was an additional feature involving tweaks to the engine for lower emissions and improved fuel economy including stop/start. I think it became standard on all specs towards the end of 2011.

I'm rather shocked Auto Cruise is not standard for a lousy 100 Euro's, especially on DSG !

I can imagine how comfortable it would be on the open road especially on those dreary commutes !
