Have you ever hit someone or been on the receiving end of a punch?

Was talking with a few lads at work today and out of the 7 of us there I seemed to be the only one who had never punched someone in a row.

I was headbutted once in an unprovoked assault and would have hit back in that situation if I was able to but don't think I would ever hit someone first unless I felt in real danger.

Quite a few, but not since I was abotu 13.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

I'm so tough I once shouted at a Bumble Bee and was fast enough to run home before he caught up with me.

Last time I hit someone was paddys day 2003
He was attacking a taxi driver and luckily I was there to assist
Since then I've handled the odd idiot but luckily not had to hit them

I once boiled a mug of water with my own rage.

    Does that count?

I hit my brother once when he was sitting in my chair, no carry on like that since or anything close. Probably could find the strength if felt in danger like others.

of course but only when younger in school and only to stop a bullying ring getting off the ground. wait for one to go a little bit too far and beat the **** out of him, the others soon got the lesson. was one of the bigger ones too, bigger than me. he got a whole wall of kick ass, tap into the 'lifting a car to rescue your child under it' energy for best results ;)

Yes to both. Got jumped after walking out of a pub at 5am one night. Guy must have thought it was a lock in and I was pissed or something but I was working and had just done the clean up so was able to get him away from me.

Nothing more serious than that apart from tempers flaring during a football or soccer match but what happens on the field doesn't count imo.

Yeah. I tend to have random people want to beat me up for some reason. I mostly run away because it is scary, but I've had to deck a couple of them of have my head kicked in.

I was kicked half to death outside a nightclub in Belfast years ago.
Thrown my fair share of punches in my time too..

Funny question actually cause I would have been full sure 95% of people would have at some time or another, taken or given a clout... But apparently not?

the weak nerd quotient is quite high on the internets, that tends to skew the numbers. same goes for % of poulation interest in star/wars or trek, virginity ect
basically if you want to conduct actual meaningfull research, the net is not the place :o

I have been at the receiving end of - misplaced chivalry - on a few occasions. A few guys who thought I was an evil exploiter of women and deserved to be laid out on the floor because of it. Thankfully due to a combination of not being a heavy drinker - and having some training - I have prevailed where necessary and where forced to do so. How much of this was due to me being trained - and how much to do with me being a lot more sober than them - is anyones guess.

I'm a boxer so yeah, loads of times! Had a giant Traveller pop my nose open with a jab only last night, great fun spending Friday evening picking clumps of dried blood out of your nostrils.

Yes both, numerous times, I've also been headbutted point blank in a nightclub by some random idiot. Broke my nose and had to have surgery. But I'm glad it happened now, it has made me more confident, it makes you feel alive too. In the words of Tyler Durden, how much can you really know about yourself if you were never in a fight.

Been schooled a few times alright. Done some schooling too. Doesnt hurt till the morning after, unless something is really torn, or broken at which point, the pain is immediate and (depending on whats been broken mind) allows you do do some seriously nasty sh*t in the name of defence. Its scary as hell but **** me, is it a rush! :D

Once hit a guy after a night out. He was starting with a mate of mine who is much smaller so I stood in to defend him. The guy ran at me, and I threw a punch. Broke my hand with the first box but I also broke his nose. There was am awkward moment later on in the night when we both ended up in the same A&E waiting room.

I did martial arts for years so I've exchanged quite a few blows. I'm not sure if that really counts though. Outside of that I have only been in one fight when I was 13.

Last time I was involved in a fight was about 5 years ago when my friend was being beaten up on the way into a nightclub.

I was walking in with him and I turned to talk to him and he wasn't there, I turned around only to see him getting punched and kicked on the ground by three scumbags (I think). They didn't seem to notice me, I ran over hit one of them and got him out of the way and the started fighting another off. We faught down as far as the dj box and then another two got involved with me. I just covered up my head and kicked the door of the dj box a couple of kicks while the three of them hammered away at my arms and the little part of my head that wasn't covered up until the bouncers came and chucked them out. I didn't have anything more that a few bumps and bruises but my friend had a bloodied mouth when I met with I'm shortly after. He couldn't remember a thing from it (and we weren't drunk).

Both, but only in defence. I have no issue with thrown a punch or a headbutt after you laid your hands on me or a friend.

I'd be afraid to hit someone. Knowing my luck they'd fall, bang their head and die. The good guys get all the bad luck ya know!

Got a dig then kicked in the eye- whilst standing up too may I add. I don't know how the hell that happened as he wasn't a giant or anything.
