    Kumquat
    Kiwi

    Dragon Fruit (Pittaya)
    Passion fruit

    This question seems familiar?

They had it recently, different fruits but. I remember making the same Ricky Martin joke.

A Chinese gooseberry IS a kiwi fruit!

Surprised Richard didn't point it out.

Not happy with that. Dave has been carrying Karen all the way.

    Haywards Heath overrated!

    Give it up, Richard!

I'd love for the losing head to head pair to just be really bad losers. Knock over the podium, push Richard's laptop off the table etc.

...and then Richard stands up and releases his inner Beast form and crushes them within his hands!

Only Led Zep song I can think of is What Is And What Should Never Be. No clue what album it's from.

Can they say 'Territorial Pissings' before the watershed?

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 16,287 Mod ✭✭✭✭quickbeam

Poor guy - mind just went blank. But two of those answers are far too obviously not Pointless. He'd be nearly better off making up an answer than naming those.

I was thinking the same, he obviously had a brain freeze which is a shame because he was rubbing his hands when he saw the topic.

If RTE provided the scoreboards, they'd be pointless!!

Ahem, also I don't recall them giving a score for Territorial Pissings?

This video might make ye nostalgic...the end is hilarious!

What was the final round exactly? (Something Nirvana related, I gather!)

Can they say 'Territorial Pissings' before the watershed?

Richard tweeted that it wouldn't have been allowed.
Just left the studio to hundreds of tweets asking if 'Territorial P***ings' was accepted for the Nirvana question. Afraid not #nevermind

@kreans Because it's a really good question. We often disallow rude answers in all sorts of categories. Always tell the contestants first.

@Herne_TheHunter No, it's 5.15, you can't even bleep things out. Lots of young kids watching, I don't want parents to have to explain it!

The title was classic albums and you had to name a track from

    Nevermind
    Appetite for Destruction
    Led Zeppelin IV

In situations like that then they really shouldn't ask the question in the first place I think. It's not fair if it actually were to be a pointless answer.

I wonder if they'd allow somebody like Danny Sh!ttu to be an answer to a hypothetical question like "Name a member of Nigeria's 23 man panel for a world cup" because his name happens to contain a swear word.

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 16,287 Mod ✭✭✭✭quickbeam

Agreed. And tweeters posted that very point to him and the second two comments were in reply to that.

I remember a round on Quentin Tarantino movies and somebody had to whisper Inglorious Basterds to Xander to get the point. Thought that was a once off, but it might happen more often than we realise. I suppose it's fair-ish once the contestants are told that answers containing swearwords weren't allowed.

I agree with the above, I think in a situation like that they shouldn't have picked Nevermind to begin with.

If they ever asked about Germany's Euro 96 squad they'd have great fun with...
