I think another point is a lot of this seasons games have being going on for 2 hours+ with the stop starts, tmo checks etc. Longer and longer they are getting

We've been pretty blessed with KO times so we can't really complain.

Anyhow, everyone who has a kid should get a baby sitter and we should all go out on the tear.

Not really, as I mentioned I've a toddler and there has only been one game that I've been able to bring him too. Yes I know the times may suit one demographic but it sucks for others and without some sort of balance they are just going to start losing family season ticket holders pretty quickly

But the latest game we've had was at 7.45?

haven't had any 8pm kickoffs this season

    1945 latest and most earlier

Not even against the Ospreys :pac:

I can see why the 8.30 KO is annoying but I wouldn't say it's a disgrace.

To be truthful I wouldn't be surprised if some families don't renew season tickets over this, as they'll now figure if they've done it once this year they may do it multiple times next year.

I've a toddler and there has only been 1 kickoff time this year that we could bring him to and I've already decided not to bother renewing my season ticket as a result as it's not worth it

Because of 1 game? There's often the odd game here or there that people can't make for various reasons. That doesn't make the season ticket any less worth while. Especially as you can sell it on to get the money back anyway.

Get onto Leinster Rugby and/or the league itself and flag it to them. If enough people do that they might address the issue.

EDIT: Ignore that, I can't read....

You'd wonder how much control Leinster have though. Is it not driven mainly by TV?

we've also only had one kick off before 6pm. So at the earliest I would get home is 8.30, but more likely 9, and with a toddler or young kids that just isn't visible.

yes I was expecting a lot of games were we wouldn't be able to bring him but having had only one it's been a bit of a joke for us to try and get to games and I'd say a good few people like me will give up the season tickets and just pay to go to he odd game next season

It's driven by the home union with input from the TV afaik.

he says he could only go to one game all season...I certainly wouldn't be renewing a family ticket on that basis

Unfortunately it is the way it is with the Rabo, games are not going to be scheduled on Saturday afternoon as they clash with other sports on TV

It would be yeah, but the league should be looking to grow it's support and should have limits on the kick-off times as a result. An 8:30 kick-off means it won't be finished until 10:30 at least. Sure the Ospreys game in January that kicked off at 8pm didn't end until after 10pm. By the time anyone gets to a bus stop or train station after that it's 11pm and between waiting for a bus/train and getting into town a lot of people will have missed last buses out of town. It's prohibitive, and it should be trying to be anything but.

As I've said we've only had one game before 6 this year, so the 8.30pm kick off is just the straw to break the camal's back.

With the precedent set for an 8.30pm kick off you have to take that into your considerations for going to games the following year and the value you will get so if they were to put a few more on next season it wouldn't be worth it cause chances are with family commitments there would be another few that you might have to miss

We also have to consider there's 5 other games the league has to fit in over the weekend. We can't get the spot we want all the time.

i tend to disagree...I dont think we need to keep all games seperate...just seperate to other Irish games maybe

it is complicated by being on directly after the Munster Game with Connacht before that

So i think the real issue is that there are three Irish games on Saturday...no idea why one could not be on Sunday

Only a six-day turnaround to the Six Nations then...

No, but pretty much everyone else will be. And if Ireland do make changes to the starting line-up, chances are you will have guys starting this weekend and against Italy.

Yeah, I think the RDS has a license that allows it to serve at "event"s on Good Friday (or something along those lines) so should be fine again.

I thought it was only those who held a valid travel ticket and those resident in a hotel that could be served on Good Friday ?

Some sports facilities also have an exemption.

McLaughlin ruled out of the Glasgow game, no surprise there, had surgery on his nose but expected back for the Zebre game in three weeks.

    He's constantly breaking that snotser.

    Would love to see...

    McGrath
    Strauss
    Moore
    Cullen
    McCarthy
    Ruddock
    Jennings
    Murphy
    Reddan
    Gopperth
    Fitzgerald
    Reid
    Macken
    McFadden
    Kirchner

Reckon we'll see that anyhow, with maybe the exception of Madigan starting.

Reckon Madigan will start, as will Cronin, at the request of Schmidt. Otherwise, that will be the team I'd say.

Anybody think Ryan has a chance of starting?

On paper I really love the Ruddock, Ryan, Murphy axis - excellently balanced.

Is it a bit strange that neither Reddan or Boss have extended their contract or announced their futures?

I don't think Leinster have announced any contracts other than Heaslip and O'Brien?

I would hope for at least another year from each.

basically no one has apart from Heaslip and SOB.

Leinster announce all the extensions at once when they are all done.
