    Sturridge
Suarez has been pretty unlucky not to score, hit the bar, post etc

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,268 ✭✭✭IsMiseMyself

Yeah, he really has been unlucky for a bit now. He's also been quite involved--a lot more so than his point haul suggests. Hoping he sparks back to form today! (And Studge falls over and hurts him after five minutes.)

    Is januzai likely to sart?.
    My team is...
    Hart
    Azpilicueta, kosielny, shaw
    Hazard, mata, lallana, januzai,
    Suarez (c) adebayor, negredo.

I have demel and Barkley on the bench and not sure of them and januzai who to start.

I'd rather play Demel than Januzaj in that line-up, tbh.

Pleasantly surprised to see Yaya with 0. Expected him to have taken some fancies.

Seeing the 24% on Sturridge makes me very happy too.

I went with the safe option and picked Sturridge :D
That should hopefully place me in the top 15 :D

    :'(

Though Suarez served me well, it's time to let him go.

    FFS poll:

    1. Suarez 48.5 %
    2. Sturridge 29.5 %
    3. Adebayor 4.5 %
    4. RVP 4.5 %

In my position: Suarez it has to be.

    Ended up:

    1. Suarez 50.5 %
    2. Sturridge 27.2 %
    3. RVP 4.4 %
    4. Adebayor 4.0 %
FFS poll has served me great over the past.

But it seems the majority of FF players are overclouded by Suarez FF brilliance before Christmas.

Since his return the England international outscored him by 30 points !!!!!!

    Sturridge : o9, o9, 11, o9, o6, 15, 16 = 75
    Suarez .. : 13, o5, 11, o4, o5, o2, o5 = 45

It is interesting to note that Suarez gigantic run of 24-15-22-16 (GW14-17) happened while Sturridge was injured.

When the two were playing together Suarez had only 2 big GWs (17 & 16 respectively for GW 9 & 11) with Sturridge only returning 8 & 2.

Sturridge is now on 9 goals in the last 7 PL games.

In hindsight it looked like a no brainer to go for Sturridge over Suarez. The fear of a repeat of the Norwich & Spurs games (GW 14 & 16) are probably haunting most of us for sticking with him hoping he'd run riot again...

Suarez playing with Sturridge does not equal the same guy to be feared/captained.

He still has the potential to have a massive week, but it's pretty clear it isn't a no brainer to captain him anymore.

This was considered a gamble at the time, but I had looked at it and it didn't seem much of a gamble, and that was 4 weeks ago when I did Suarez -> Sturridge.
I did say I would have kept Suarez to play alongside Sturridge if possible, but circumstances went against that.

    Sturridge
Fair play to you PARlance !

I have both Suarez & Sturridge for 4 GWs now. Honestly considered (at least for a moment) switching (C) to Sturridge for the last 2 weeks but my super high and super unexpected overall ranking (broke inside top 1k last week) got me under pressure. These past 2 years I've been fighting till the very end to snatch a top 20k finish so being so high up so early put a lot of pressure on my transfers and captain choices. Hence going with the "safe" FFS poll... May reconsider this "safe" route now...

It could have been a disaster and I could have slid into oblivion.... Quietly, but seeing that it worked I may as well get it out there :)
F**k all else has worked ;)

It was all down to a poor position. I don't think you can be annoyed about captaining Suarez in your position. You
kinda need to go with the flow.
