Hey all just a quick Q, I've got a 57cm Triban 3 which a mate at work is interested in. I find it a wee bit on the small size if I'm honest (am 6ft) and considering selling it and going for the 60cm Fit 5 (want to start commuting and would prefer a flat bar for that (no real reason just feels better controlled)).

My question is would you think a 60 would be too big a step ? Theres only a 57 or a 60...

    Fit 5 is here: http://www.decathlon.co.uk/btwin-fit-500-road-bike-id_8239798.html

    Thanks.

    FBP.

Perhaps buy a longer stem if you find the reach too short, or flip the stem and move the stem up the spacers if you find the reach too low. Or a combination of the three. Should cost only about 20-25 for a Deda Zero stem on wiggle. You'll miss the drop bars very sorely if you go out on longer spins.

Agreed. Already Bike-fitted to an inch of it's life tho, added spacers, saddle pushed back, bar raised (have an adjustable stem but didn't need to fit it in the end) and I still find the reach too short so maybe a longer stem is the answer, dunno to, I've a road bike at home in Ireland so not really thinking long-long spins here in the UK (work during the week and then 1 in two weekends here), the real driver for the flat bar is the traffic challenges on the commute and need for control and the more upright riding position. Not ideal but seems sensible..

Will check out the longer bar though.. Thanks

You say the 57 is too small then i think you should definitely go for the 60.
