Vellux Window.

    I'm thinking of putting in a Vellux window in my kitchen. I have a flat roof. Is this a big job and if so roughly how much will it cost?
    I also have a query re. Chimney. I have just moved into a terraced house. My neighbours red brick chimney is leaving water into an upstairs bedroom. Is she responsible for it's upkeep and maintenance or am I? I would welcome any help or advice please.

    Velux make a specific window for flat roofs. Check out their website www.velux.ie which also gives the price of the unit. Installation will depend in existing covering and timberwork. In respect to the chimney if it is letting water into your bedroom is it not a shared stack? If its shared your both responsible. If its not shared then they are responsible but they would only be liable for repairs if neglegant.

    I would budget approx 1k for the works.

    Edit - Just the velux works, will be extra for the chimney repairs.

    it might take some of the heat out,they are not good at keeping heat in even if they are double gazed

    Its just a ballpark figure for a standard Velux and installation. If the OP goes bigger or more complex then expect higher costs etc
    Just to confirm i was using my figure for the Velux works, i didnt word it correctly and didnt include any costs for the chimney repair, sorry.
