Definition of Bangernomics. Heaps of tax, loads of NCT and low mileage from this cheap Jap econobox. 4 new tyres and a timing belt/water pump changed practically yesterday.

Normally a great car. Front nearside wing looks off colour. Check boot for water ingress. Have seen some that drink oil.
Would be even better buy if buying direct from previous owner and not some trader\private dealer\car flipper type of character. Cleverly hidden reg plate.

Yea the bonnet/roof/wing looks a different colour. Could be the light/angle as easy though.

How do you know its a dealer? Recognise the phone number? Or the hidden reg plate?

Lots of electrics listed which means a lot to go caput from what I'm hearing elsewhere on these forums (Window motors already changed) plus 177km =110000 miles. Someone knows the car goes downhill from here.

    This too shall pass.

My dad's one is at 91k km and it needs a clutch, CV joint, suspension was all just done but there's knocking from the rear passenger side, front passenger window doesn't work, rear windows don't work properly (they only move an inch at a time), hesitation when you push the accelerator ,the passenger headlight keeps blowing, sensor gone so when you start it you have to rev the hole out of it to keep it from dying... Which is obviously bad for the engine... Which keeps developing misfires.

    Comfy though.

    What year is it?
Crying shame because the saloons are handsome looking cars. The hatch however, the less said about the arse of it the better.

Keep the switch pressed for about 5 seconds with the window fully up. Computer needs to learn where the window is - or something like that.
    The other problems.... :(

Did you get that diagnosed? My mams done that, it would conk every time you went to take off unless you reved it. I just pulled off the throttle body and cleaned it, perfect now. OEM plugs and a full set of coils can be got for 100 euro and will fix most misfires. Windows are a pain in them though.

An 05, my dad's not a car guy at all.
It's dented and scratched but as long as it gets him to work he's happy.

Sound, I'll try that when I'm in the car later!

Don't think he has, or if he has he hasn't told me about it.
Think he got all the coil packs replaced when he last got it serviced (and the suspension work done) but I think I'll have a go at cleaning the throttle body, it's a pain in the ass when you need to reverse slowly out of a space or the likes.

Man, I can't wait to get back into my own car!
Can't knock the Meganes for what they are but the 1.4 ain't quick and they're a heavy yoke to throw into a bend.

Painfully slow with all that weight and traction control :(.

Worth the effort doing the TB. You just need an E8 torx socket 1/4" drive to get the TB off. Handy enough to do.

You won't get much more NCT'd car for your money than that Legend :)

Jeez, €700. €500 cash would buy it for sure. I bet that car would cost 10 times as much in most other EU countries...

Picked myself up a bangernomic on Saturday :D
Well actually it's not for me :/ for my parents.
Seeing as I'm still in Warsaw they wanted a LHD car for the summerly trips to Italy.
I'll pop some pics up later but it's a 2000 Fiat Punto JTD :D
    Rocket of a yoke :D

Scratches the Megane off of my purchase list later in the summer.

a sweet 100% standard GT4 Celica NCTd til november too..:) now if only I had the cash spare:(

On the hunt for a car for 6 months that's not powered by Bus Eireann while the missus is on maternity leave (leaving her with the safe C5).

Opinions on this Ford Ka? Doesn't bother me about styling but it has AC / EW / PS, new tyres, 6 months tax / 1 year NCT so looks good to me.

They've 85bhp, this one apparently 90 but I like the ELX spec.
Aircon, 5 discs CD changer with upgraded speakers (those who own Punto's will know how bad the normal stereo is)
Got 4 winter tires and 4 summer tires included in the deal with alloys.
Insurance paid up until August and NCT until July.
    Paid 1,400e for it.

    What a bargain!
It's going that feck all people over here realise that out of the Escort Cossie an this, the Celica is the far superior car.
Faster, more nimble and better looking.

    If I had the cash...
