Yep if EA want to sign exclusive deals with M$ so be it, still wouldn't make me buy an xbone just to play this. Will be interesting what the next couple of years will be like for COD with 3 different studios producing their own flavour of COD, just hope they don't try and copy Titanfall giant robots!

Nothing would make me buy an Xbox One or a PS4. I'm not a "PC master race" kinda guy - I just don't have the funds to be forking out for a console that will offer me the one or two exclusives that I'd be interested in playing.

I invested in a decent PC (not amazing mind you) but it does the job. I can get everything out of Battlefield and I can also play Titanfall. Putting together a custom PC is pretty cheap these days.

I know the PC argument, I have a decent Spec'd pc but just don't game on PC anymore, I play COD on PS3 and now PS4, I'm kind of a die hard COD fan who has stuck through it from World at War, although I really don't think Ghosts is great and don't think Sledgehammer will produce a decent COD this year but do have high hopes that Treyarch will do something decent next year.

I don't get the "die hard COD fan" argument tbh....

A game should be judged on merit. After all, it's your hard earned cash that's being competed for and I believe that that hard earned cash should go to the company that does everything in it's power to please your every whim. For me, none of the COD developers have done that for quite some time. It's a democracy - you vote with your wallet and your vote is important. Give it to that of which you want to see more of and less to that which you want to see less. If COD isn't satisfying you, then not buying it will produce less of that with which you don't want.

In fact, I'd go so far as to say that Call of Duty, as a concept, is on it's last legs. The video game virtual worlds are changing. These flat horizontal game mechanics are so last gen. With that being said, the video games of the future will resemble more Battlefield than Call of Duty. We can't stay static forever. Technology changes - do you think future video game developers will strive to create horizontal maps with 12 players or strive to produce massive 1,000 player battlefields complete with virtual reality headsets pushing the boundaries of what is fake and real?

Well unfortunately I'm one of a dying breed then, as I enjoy the pick up and play mechanics of Call of Duty, and listen I've tried the likes of battlefield and Killzone and I keep coming back to Call of Duty, so yes I am a die hard Call of Duty fan and I also think there is life in the franchise, whatever you might say it's still one of the biggest selling franchises year on year and I don't see that changing anytime soon! Maybe the next Titanfall will be multi-platform and me and my friends will play it but that's a couple of years down the road if at all.

naw this wont get anywhere near killing cod, the main reason being titanfall aint on ps4 so cod will remain the no1 choice for playstation owners, and i dont think were(ps4) missing much in fairness

You are actually right, the only game that can kill CoD is ... CoD. In fact, for me it already has. Wont be buying the next one no matter what they promise. I have seriously had enough of their doings.

Have you even tried playing any of the older versions? MW hacked, WaW hacked, MW2 Hacked as well, MW3 hacked. The only one you can play (i think) is BO1. The other two, BO2 and Ghost are unplayable for me, BO2 mostly because of the lag compensation, Ghost, well, it is just boring and dull IMO. Never played BF multiplayer until recently, BF3 was interesting, def better than BO2 IMO, BF4 is way ahead any of the newer CoD, I mean, the multiplayer enviroment its absolutely incredible (64 people playing together, with different roles, equipment, vehicles)... BF4 reminds me a bit to CoD MW, it kind of looks similar in a way, it like and alternative reality of what CoD could have looked like. But BF4 is also slow paced, however, it has new game modes (like defuse) that make it interesting (to me).

So what would I support and buy another one of their titles when it is obvious that they dont care about their community? I mean, how long that is take to fix a game that is barely 3 years old? That invisibility hack has been around for how long now, 8 months? 1 year? actually I think it might be even more... but they dont care.

Doesnt suprised me though, there are companies out there that have been making money out of people's loyalty (for example, Apple) so why wouldnt IW be the same...

    This +1.

The lag comp done it for me.Since CoD 4,it has been gradually getting worse. And I always loved CoD(and BF too).

Ghosts was the first CoD game I played seriously on PC since CoD 4. I've already spoken at length on this forum about how spectacularly awful an experience I've had with it, suffice it to say, it's clear that when Respawn started they took all the best talent with them and having spent the weekend playing Titanfall, Activision should be worried. It's a brilliant game that captures a lot of the elements that make CoD fun whilst adding some nice new features that I'm sure they wanted to put in but couldn't risk cause any change to the CoD formula would be seen as bad by a publisher like Activision who seem to want to keep on milking the cash cow.

Will this kill CoD? No, but it'll take a big chunk out of it I think if they start a series of games. However, Activision will strike back with Destiny, so they cycle will continue anew.

I've played a few games of Titanfall today and I'm in agreement.

It's a better COD than COD. Much faster too. TBH you don't really know wtf is going on half the time....

Y'see I started with Quake. Every game since Quake (with maybe an exception of Q3A and the first UT) has been way, way too slow for my tastes. :p

I started with Q3A and from years of playing CoD my style has slowed down to a snails pace.

Have Titanfall downloaded so will give it a go after work

Don't suppose the beta is available on 360, no?

Not right now. I reckon it will be garbage on the old consoles though.

Respawn are not going near the 360 version. Someone else is doing a port.

Yikes! 500 quid to watch TV?!

You could always upgrade your PC, Dave. Cheaper and superior.

    What?! €500 quid??? Madness!!!!

I'll hold out for as long as possible to see if they get cheaper... Nah I have a laptop, will never go for a desktop... Too much hassle!

I was in the same boat as you. But I got a desktop....didn't put me out the door, it was affordable. I buy parts from https://www.hardwareversand.de and I find them to be fantastic. Have a gander around the pre-built machines if you don't fancy putting in the research but it's definitely an investment compared with the consoles.

If you have Sky in your home, you must be dishing out some amount of money on an annual basis. If you get a desktop, cancel your Sky/UPC subscription and get all the channels you want completely FREE - a money saver right there.

The same with games - Steam will plough out sales....no more Gamestop heaven forbid. And the Russians are kind enough to let me try out their games before I buy. ;)

I play my desktop with an XB controller too. And if you don't fancy going through Windows, you can always download Valve's Big Picture as your start up screen.

The Xbox One is dropping by £30 in the UK from February 28 and from March 14 for "a limited time" it will come bundled with a code for Titanfall, don't think we'll see anything like that here though.

The XB1 is selling well below estimates and Microsoft are well aware of this.

The PS4 hasn't even released in Japan yet (their primary market that they dominate over MS)....Sony will make their comeback in this generation.

PS4 was released in Japan over the weekend sold 325K in 2 days! I think MS might cut the price here as well as they might try and win some market share back in a strong Playstation market like ireland

They'd want to do something fast...

For every Xbox One sold, two PS4's are being shipped out the door!

That bundle with titanfall is actually of good enough value that it'd be worth ordering from amazon and getting it delivered by parcel motel if it doesn't get offered over here.

    399.00 GBP = 484.404 EUR
    British Pound ↔ Euro
    1 GBP = 1.21404 EUR 1 EUR = 0.823693 GBP
    Mid-market rates: 2014-02-25 16:56 UTC

I played a lot of the beta, and Its definitely a breath of fresh air, but I dont think it'll ever kill COD. If anything, It'll exist as it own separate thing much the way halo does.

This whole COD killer thing is ridiculous. The gaming industry is like the music industry, there is no saturation point. If you make something good people will buy it, and if you make something sh!t people will buy it in enormous quantities.

It's not really ridiculous talk at all . At some stage an FPS will come along and kill COD . It will happen at some stage and from playing titanfall it does stand to make a lot of ground on COD . Titanfall felt like B02 because I had a lot of fun playing it and I had the same feeling with B02 . The IW games are just not that much fun to play so I will be waiting for the next treyarch version of cod before I buy one again .
