if you take your pants off and bend over with your ass hole facing into the wind it kinda feels nice.

This is a scary storm, I hope there aren't too many injuries.

Trees down in lots of counties, Kilkenny city has emergency procedures active.

I think there is an awful lot of damage that we will only hear/read about over the next few days.

I think the thread title is inappropriate and should be "The Storm".

    Stay safe...

We all know you get warts from contact with someone's warty fingers. Wasnt the wind you dropped trou and bent over for now was it ?

On my way home a cat was blown across the road in front of me, as in if rolling down a hill. Luckily I was driving slowly. I just thought it was a black bag or something until it eventually righted itself and ran back from wherest it came from. Twas funny and scary at the same time, the emergency briefs were nearly taken from the glovebox.

I'd say your right. Damage toll from today is going to be massive from the sounds of things.

Tree just collapsed on Clonshaugh road at N32 after crushing a white van. Fire brigade there now. Traffic war zone.

Are there places in your area that are still open, even due we have a status red weather warning? If not do you think they should close, like we would with a snow day? It just that I dont understand why businesses and schools/colleges can still be open with weather as severe as this. I mean I would much rather miss a few days of college and catch up with extra classes once the weather settles down, than risk walking to the bus stop and become injured from falling debris or trees and be out for weeks.

Even if the power is restored to 99.9% of homes within in a few days. There will still be some bag of dust phoning Joe Duffy about how she is without power even through she is about 15 miles for anything you would call a village

Its a bit of wind.

I despair at this country sometimes. A light dusting of snow, tailbacks for miles.
A bit of heavy rain, traffic chaos. Warm weather, it's great, but its a bit too hot.

Edit: re heavy rain, i'm talking about in general and not the recent floods.

Everywhere is still open and most stay open when there's snow too.

We cant shut down the country every time we have bad weather.

A bit? A lorry toppled over, 260,000 people lost electricity, roofs have been blowing off, trees falling everywhere. That's more than a bit of wind.

Unless things have changed drastically from my day, there's nothing stopping you from missing a couple of days of college and catching up afterwards, no?

Well aren't you clever. Tell me, have you even been outside today?

I had a college assignment due to be submitted today, so at around 3pm I made my way there and believe me, there were a LOT of partial roof collapses, loads of slates and debris littering the pavement, the odd window blown out...

If you got hit in the head by a big sharp piece of slate you wouldn't be long dismissing the idea that it's " just a bit of wind".

As it turned out, college was shutting down by the time I got there. So have to submit tomorrow :P

Wind that has caused trees to fall onto roads, and also caused a tree to crush a car in Cork, managed to bring a small plane down and overturn a truck.

It must have if attendence wasn't as strict back in your day. Yes I could easily choose to miss a couple of college days myself, but if college itself is still open, I would be marked absent. There a "no excuses" type of college for absenses, unless you show a doctor note. :/

I am. Been blown to the ground and am currently swaying with the wind at the bus stop.

    :pac:
