Awww, and she used to be great on the Telly Bingo. RIP.

I thought the same thing, I was wondering how this would affect Panti

    Hard to know about that.

But I can tell you this.

I've a 4 year old daughter at home & if she does not want to do something, well, it does not happen.

I'll have to add, that I'm not a 'modern' parent.

That's stubbornness and normal enough. I have one like that too. One at age three that decides to become a movie star in a new industry, naah, not so much. That's the parents. Hence my puppy + knife analogy.

Hard to know, maybe Shirley liked the whole scene.

There's no way she could have done what she did at that age if she didn't like it.

With my own daughter. I know there's no point before I even start.

She wouldn't have the talent for it, even if I tried my hardest, it JUST couldn't have happened.

You think that your psycho-liberal crazy parenting style was common back then?

I'd imagine a lot of kids would have gotten a good beating for not doing as they're told in times passed.

    Good God!

This is the first time in my life I've been called a Liberal.

I don't know what to say.

Where's your evidence for this Witchcraft??

It's liberal, anti-establishment anarchists like you who have this world the way it is.

I don't need to provide evidence - the old ways were the best. Spare the rod and create a monster. You need to beat that child until it understands - there is no other way of training for the future*.

*except with horses, where breaking their will with violence has a 'liberal anarchist' alternative called 'horse-whispering'.

Just being reported on BBC radio.

Can't seem to find any links online atm, maybe still too soon.

"Passed away"? ... You mean died?

Nooo, she overtook him on the M1 in a Corvette.
"Passed away" usually tends to mean died. On average.

Her career as a diplomat in later life was an interesting development.

Far from typical too, given that most child stars are freebasing crack with a tranny hooker by their mid to late 30's.

It's nice to hear of a child star who had the sense to realise when the party was over and just accepted it and got on with their life; instead of hanging around on the fringes of Hollywood growing bitter and envious and turning to drink, drugs and disastrous affairs as compensation. She must have been a pretty well grounded person despite her unusual childhood.
