I'm 28 and lately been hearing people in the same age bracket at work moaning about the amount, and cost of, friend's weddings that they have this year etc. People were shocked to hear I've only ever been to one wedding (when I was a teenager).

Am I weird, the odd one out? No sign of any of the lads getting married bar one, he had the good sense to elope.

I'm 25 and only been to one wedding, but I got pissed and threatened the DJ if he didn't play New York, New York so maybe my rep is costing me invites.

Just one. To be honest I wouldn't want to go to them very often - only a few close friends I'd go for, I'm sure the same applies to them.

I have been to over 20, number would be higher but refuse to go to weekday weddings.

They just tell you it's a on a Thursday so you don't attend, because I've never heard of someone actually having a wedding on a week day.

    Don't worry OP.

When gay marriage becomes legal, the invites will start flooding in. ;)

Get asked to quite a lot, rarely go. Hate weddings.

I've been invited to two weddings, but didn't show up to either of them. Probably wouldn't show up to my own wedding unless it was in my house and I was able to watch tv while doing it.

    Bajillions of them.

I've had three in the last six months. I had 5-6 a year for a few years running but I'm mostly done I think....for now.

I've been to about twenty five weddings since 2002. 2012 was a pretty bad year on the wallet because I had five weddings, two of which were only two weeks apart. I got two invites last year, but unfortunately I couldn't make it ;). I just got sick of going to them tbh.

I'm 40 (well, 41 on Saturday) and I've probably been invited to about 20 but went to about 15 or 16. I'm not mad about them...

Past few years I have become very selective about which weddings I will attend. The cookie cutter Irish weddings all blend into a boring blur anyway.

I have been to around 20 weddings. I enjoyed 2 of them immensely. The rest were hugely forgettable and seem to merge into one long boring expensive wasted day. The big ones are the worst, 200+ people.

Went to a whole load of family weddings recently, they have cost me an arm and a leg. My sisters wedding cost us approximately €2500, between stags weekends, clothes for the kids, hen weekend, outfits, hotel etc..... We don't want to be invited to another weekend for a long time.

We had 7 wedding invitations last year alone. At this state so many I could not even count them.

Hopefully none this year.. but thats what I said last year.

None since I turned 18. Last one I remember is my uncles and no idea of anything before that, they are all the same.

I've been to 5 but 3 of those were relatives. Only ever felt like it was worth going to 2 other people's weddings. I get about 4-5 invitations per year but never attend. Don't really see the point in going to someone's wedding when I don't even know who they're getting married to. Why would anyone do that =/

You might only speak to someone a couple of times per year and then get invited to a big do that's gonna cost tens of thousands... are people fcuking mental or what!

They seem to be a bit like buses. When your in your late 20s - 30s they seem to come along every few weeks! You do get a bit fed up after a while at the way they eat into your weekend and cost you. Then they die down. Then I presume when you get older, you might get a wave of second weddings or relations' kids.

    Not many for my age:

Brother, uncle, three cousins, five friends, three as +1 with exes, a handful of plate-lickings. Enjoyed them all.

Most of my friends/relatives are in relationships, engaged or single; very few are married. The big slew of weddings people talk about has yet to start for me. Although three of the weddings I've ever gone to all took place in the space of four weeks; all close friends/family - that was pretty tough-going on the finances.

OP, you're not "weird" because of just being to one wedding. :)

I'm 29, I've been about 8 two of them were my aunts when I was a child. Two of my friends (younger than me) have gotten engaged recently though and I'm invited to a few more wedding too so I reckon in the next year I be at 5 more.

I love weddings though always a good night and a good big drink!

Not sure how many exactly but would be below 20. In the last 5 years I have been to one a year and am bridesmaid for my bessie mate in August to make the 2014 quota up!

Been to 4 including my own, one I can hardly remember a family one when I was about 14 so had to get an invite to that, another was again a family one abroad so got a holiday out of it all good, the last one was a friend of my partners and we got put at the dud table and then there was my own, no fuss 3 other people present. Don't have any close friends that are planning to marry so can't imagine I'll be gettin any invites anytime soon
