Had to make a trip to shannondoc today, have an absess in my tooth since Friday and I was gone dizzy with the pain this morning, couldn't bare it any longer. Fair annoying because I had the flu last week aswell. :(

Osmonds biolac or something like that, only use it for after, not predipping. Although my dad insists on coming into the parlour at times to remove clusters and dip up the cows, and his teat coverage wouldn't be fantastic.

Do ye prespray and wipe off?
Were using virolac here for the last few years seems to be working good at the moment

What a dose! Hope you get sorted out soon. The antibiotics will have to do their job l suppose before the dentist can do his anything?

Not a huge fan of getting the teat wet beforehand at all (too me long enough to get rid of the rag and bucket for cleaning teats, utter disaster for scc spreading). I've had decent results with just cleaning the teats with dry paper towel, and post dip till now, never draw the spins either, the less interference the better in my view.

We used the oul rag here for a while too but that was years ago.
We spray cows teats. Wipe off with blue paper and bin it. Cup on then and spray after again. Might be worth a try

If you were stripping would you not find mastisis cases quicker ? Don't strip here to often only if scc is climbing over a few days but in early lactation I think stripping is essential to picking up cases early .just my opinion

Probably would but slows down the milking and puts me under pressure. Tonight i stripped all of them, and thats how I found the 3cows. During the year when things are going smoothly there is no need in my view, its as soon as I see cruds on the filter that I jump in and strip all the cows, I probably should have sooner this time I'll admit, like ya said when the scc started rising. Its up in the 500s at the sec, that was with mastitis getting into the tank though.

Girlfriend rang me there. She has digs in a house with a family and a few other girls have digs there to.
She had 3 weeks off after Christmas for exams and holidays.
Your one is wanting her to fork up 150 quid for the 3 weeks.
    That's not on at all.

Sorry to burst the bubble, but that's normal. Even for the weeks off you'd be paying a percentage of the weeks your there.

I don't agree with it. But its standard practice

That'd be fairly normal is say. It's supposed to be time for study and preparation for exams as opposed to holidays? A lot of students would still be on campus. We used get all of April off to study and there was no question of getting off the rent if we stayed at home instead.

Sister look up the maynooth page there and it says students in registered digs do not have to pay for holidays.
