    Not impressed with Barca.

But they are winning, which is more than what Atleti managed.

If they keep playing like this though Man City should thump them. Wonder what the odds you'd get would be? :D

    City are favourites imo.

Should be a lot of goals.

More then 4.5, maybe even 5.5 goals per leg is buying money imo.

As good as it gets! Victor Valdes supreme in the Barcelona goal, breathtaking double save for the La Masia product.

Blustering winds, torrential rain, saturated pitch, all rendered insignificant by the genius of Messi's left foot, a swish of sublime quality.

Do you have to verbally masturbate over every thread?

Had De Gea or Mignolet or any other keeper made such a save over the weekend we would have had a couple of pages worth of praise. Valdes and his masterful double save has been the turning point tonight, as important as Messi's brace.

Yes, he does. You learn to ignore it. It's become self-parody at this stage.

Ohhhhh what a goal! In the monsoon like conditions of Andalucia, Messi finds a sublime half volley that will fire Barcelona to the top of the table. Barcelona, the world media and the fans asked and Lionel Messi has answered. It's genius, soaking, dripping genius.

I can't believe it but you alone are actually making me dislike Barcelona, that is an unbelievable achievement.

Edit; How did I forget about the ignore button.

The first one was going wide, second one was a great save though.

In the face of the Sevilla storm Barcelona have turned up the heat. In hugely unfavourable conditions they've stuck to their principles, they've continued to play their game and they will be richly rewarded with a return to top spot in the league.

Game, set, match. 3 points, and control of the destiny of the league back in the hands of Barcelona.

The headlines will go to Messi, and rightly so because that second half performance was worthy of Messi, but Iniesta was terrific, hopefullyva return to form for the legendary midfielder.

Henk Ten Cate can piss off by the way. Messi wont be going anywhere.

Knowing the way those games have gone though Barca will knock them out. '09 Chelsea deserved to go through Barca prevail.
'12 Barca deserved to go through Chelsea prevail.

Chelsea are a hell of unit this season. Very tough for any team to beat them.

Could Barca afford another ref though after spending so much on Neymar's Da?

Such an amateur. They don't pay for the ref's UEFA and UNICEF do.

    Touché.

The Barcelona/Chelsea games are vindication of the away goals rule. Barcelona's ability to get one in '09 and Chelsea not bothering in the first leg. And Barcelona incapable of scoring open goals in '12 in the first leg and yet Torres could.

Neymar's Dad can afford it as well now...

Not getting much attention here, but the battle for fourth place is most intriguing too. Three fantastic clubs all in the hunt. Really hard to call that, let alone the battle at top!

Wouldn't stress. Tis a broken feature anyway given that all it takes is someone to quote said ignored poster for their posts to show up still. I tried using it a couple of times, but proved pointless. Shame as this used to be one of the better threads, even with the Ronaldo vs Messi fanboys scratching and clawing at each other on a weekly basis.

It's at worst 50-50 for City imo.

Only thing that could hurt them is if they line up 4-4-2. Bayern ruthlessly exposed that formation and Barca will likely do the same.

City are in good form(Chelsea last week excepted), score a ton of goals and they won't fear Barca.

Barca won well last night but they've been hugely unconvincing for the most part. Question marks remain over their defence and how fit Messi is and if he's the force he still was in big games.

Time will tell but City have a great chance imo, whereas they would have had no chance in previous years.

Not very hopeful of Atléti rescuing the tie tonight, but a win would be nice.

They're dipping in form right as the Champions League resumes. Thankfully Milan are still awful.

Barcelona playing some sublime stuff tonight against Rayo, a blaugrana fury flying towards them. It's all clicking in time for Tuesday.
