Where do they serve that metalman?

Out west for next 8 weeks. Then joining "the scattering" and moving abroad. Have Sierra Nevada on draft here. Had that twaittes wainwright the last night on bottle, went down way too easy. Just enquired, salthouse has it (metalman) so I will try, hope its not too hoppy, hated the voyager.

The other half went and outdid herself by getting me a record player for my birthday. Vinyl is the business.

I can't believe I was flootering around with iTunes for so long, I love the idea of having physical copies of my music.

Haven't had Voyager. Their Full Sail ale is nice. Metalman is hoppy but no idea how much is too much for you!!

If you like stouts try the buried at sea, tremendous

I found the voyager way ott. I like them mild enough. "Metal" has me wary but what the heck, I'll try it. If its crap, I'll make you walk the plinth plinth plinth Colonel.

Punk is a nice one too, simply too expensive IMO. Can't justify the best part of 7 quid for a pint when Dark Arts is 5.10 (Porter rather than an ale but I drink both)

Funny you mention punk. I like it. A lot. Price is derived from the kegs they drag it over from scotland in. Pricey keg apparently. Must be a cheaper way. 5am saint is ok too. Sierra Nevada my favourite though.

Just went on chat there asked if it would be possible to have half of my Plinth winnings paid to me this week and they outright refused is this unreasonable??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,681 ✭✭✭BumperD

Rebel red ain't bad either. Very sweet though.

Not a huge red ale fan (find them bland enough) but I do like Rebel Red

If you ever see an off licence selling McGraths beers try their red, it's the nicest red ale I've had (disclaimer haven't had a huge number but I thought it was definitely nicer than the likes of O'Hara's Red)

I think they're the ones being unreasonable tbh

Have seen mcgrath's label on sale in plenty of bars. I'll give it a go.

Indie explosion! Ultimate 100 on one of the many music channels I have & never watch.

Quality. Franz Ferdinand (Take me out) on now.

Little know fact they were named after a race horse & not the victim of an assassination which started WWI (although the horse may have been named after said slain monarch)

Where you based now Urban? Peroni is idiotically expensive in Dublin (don't drink it, just an observation). It's around 6.50 a pint in many places

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,681 ✭✭✭BumperD

I went on the peroni a few weeks back on a Friday night, same formula, bet on the sand dune racing lucky last with no joy, peroni went down very easy and quick, I don't remember getting home, that stuff is strong.

Working in Galway, Sligo most weekends. Fiver in the local spot and it's one of the better ones in Sligo. Huntsman in Galway it was lovely there

Can't think of a pint other than a craft that is worth 6 plus

Beer snob or no beer snob I simply cannot believe the popularity of Heineken. Of all the mass produced, mass marketed tripe it's the worst. I couldn't drink it if it was free & on tap in my kitchen. Disgusting is the only word I could use to describe it

If I ever want anything marketed I'll go to the lads who made Corona popular. **** me, take one bottle of putrid cats p!ss (nearly vomited the one time I drank it & this was before I discovered craft beer) add a slice of lime & watch clowns line up to pay 6 quid a bottle for it.

No offence to Corona drinkers, you're just morons

Don't mind Corona too much but it is very rare I'd drink it. Heineken would be my main stream of choice, never liked Carlsberg, Bud is okay. Dutch Gold the worst I ever tasted, Tennents is very poor too. Tuborg at 3 euro a pint not bad, best value of all time must be the 2 euro pints of Beamish in Hole in the Wall, not sure if they're still doing it though.

I converted to Weiss biers 4yrs ago, and made the transition to pale ales 2 yrs ago. I cannot believe I drank utter piss for so long. It's embarrassing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,681 ✭✭✭BumperD

Actually, it was the colonel's ravings on ales a few yrs back that got me looking at them. The much maligned ales and porn stars thread,

I never really liked lagers but drank em in college (basically whatever was cheapest I bought)

Used to love Guinness but its a seriously mediocre stout vs some of the crafts. Bland out

(Broken record warning) If there's a god (s)he definitely drinks Leann Follain from a bottle at room temperature.

I love Dark Arts Porter on tap, knocks bottles of the same stuff out the park. Buried At Sea a serious, serious (milk) stout
