Cant see Cardiff not getting a result there to be honest

All depends how Swansea react to laudrups sacking if reports are to be believed that they wanted him out and told the chairman so we may see a backlash and Swansea play to the potential they have in there ranks and within which case they win and could win well or they continue in the horrendous rut there in at the minute without any guidance personally I'm staying clear of the game as it could easily go either way I would be more inclined to back Swansea as they are the better side and with Wilfred bony posses a real goal threat and have more than enough quality to see off Cardiff but at odds on I won't be getting involved far better bets this weekend such as arsenal +1 on the handicap spurs to beat a tired looking Everton outfit and no biased involved Aston villa to beat west ham all three are better priced and offer a better chance of winning than this particular game of uncertainty that's without even taking into account it's a derby

    Liverpool v Arsenal

Liverpool (4th) host Arsenal (1st) in the big match of the weekend with Liverpool having won 83% of their home matches and Arsenal having won a massive 66% of their away matches we should be in for a great game. Liverpool is currently on an unbeaten run of 7 games with Arsenal enjoying an unbeaten run of 10 games in all competitions.

We will see the 2nd and 3rd best offense in the league match up against eachother with Arsenal having won 3 of the last 4 meetings between these two, however Liverpool are in great form having beat Everton 4-0 in their last game despite only having 39% possession, they have consistently shown an efficient use of the ball this season, however they face an Arsenal team who have kept 11 clean sheets (3 away) in the league and will try to stop Liverpools run of 9 home games where they have scored at least 2 goals.

These are two very different first half teams with Liverpool looking to win the game early (38 goals scored) against an Arsenal team who try to start their away games conservatively and soak up the early pressure from the home team (scored 7, conceded 5) however they do much better in the second half scoring twice as many goals with 25% of their total goals scored in the last 15 minutes.

15 out of the last 19 meetings have seen both teams score and we can expect an attacking game and with Lucas out for Liverpool we can expect Arsenal to expose a weakness in Liverpool’s midfield while Liverpool’s fast counter attacks will be able to score against an Arsenal team who have shown defensive problems away from home.

Both teams have failed to score in just one of their home and away league games respectively.

Recommended Bet: BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE @ 1.55 (Ladbrokes, BetVictor)

    Chelsea v Newcastle

Chelsea (3rd) are coming off one of the most impressive displays of the season where they beat Man City at the Etihad and could have scored 3 or 4 more goals. They welcome Newcastle (8th) who have recently lost their playmaker Cabaye to PSG and have their top striker suspended for this match (Remy) on top of which they have just won 1 from their last 6 matches having scored just 3 goals and now they have to visit the best defence and form team (previous 6 games) in the league.

Chelsea are unbeaten in their last 10 games in all competitions and unbeaten at home in the league this season while in the same run of games Newcastle have lost to bottom half teams West Brom and Cardiff and were convincingly beaten at home by Sunderland.

Newcastle won the reverse fixture however in that game Chelsea were just back from playing Arsenal at the Emirates and had their focus on their champions league game against Schalke 4 days later. With the positive momentum gained from their victory over City we can expect a fully motivated Chelsea team who could go to the top of the table with a victory over Newcastle.

The odds have been dropping fast on Chelsea since early in the week so the sooner you get the bet on the better!

Recommended Bet: CHELSEA TO WIN AT HALF TIME & FULL TIME @ 1.8 (StanJames)

I would be wary of backing Tottenham/putting them in an accumulator this weekend versus Everton, they have only won 5 out of 12 at home, (hull, swansea, norwich, palace, stoke) Everton are a class above the sides they have beaten this season and despite Lukaku being injured I think Everton will fancy themselves to get a result in what is a huge game in the fight for fourth place.

They were terrible at Anfield granted but bounced back with the win vs Villa and playing Spurs at the Lane is much less daunting than Liverpool at Anfield with Sturridge and Suarez.

Martinez has also won at the lane in the past with Wigan (questionable relevance) and tactically may be able to outfox the inexperienced Sherwood.

Great form isn't 5 points from Villa (h) Everton (h) and West Brom (a).

I think the odds are quite short on BTTS. Arsenal are great at the back this season and poor enough up front right now, with goals from midfield bailing them out recently.

In general I think Arsenal are great value here. They had a very comfortable win against Pool already this season and are 8 points ahead. Have backed them double chance and DNB and to win to nil.

After yesterdays robbery we have 2 matches today in Holland

Only will take something on the early one: Utrecht - Zwolle

Will be taking the home win here @2.25 (acc to flashscore, cant access bookies to double check)

Home results this season has been great for Utrecht despite on picking up 1 point in their last 3 home matches. That had everything to do wit hthe opponents being Ajax (draw), Feyenoord (playing by far their best match of the season) and PSV (quick 2-0 up and never looked back)

Utrecht got 5 players in on the last few days of the transfer window and looked to have benefited from that against Ajax with a much securer defense than they previously had. Delpierre, new central defender on loan from Hoffenheim looked pretty good

The other 4 were not in the line up but 2 of them came of the bench.

Home record of Utrecht shows 6-3-2, 6th best in the league and you can see where they were before the traditional top 3 dropped by in their stadium.

Zwolle finished 2013 in quite terrible form and improved a lot after the break but this week had to add 2 players to their sidelined players and these 2 are massively important to them.
Both Lachman and Mokotjo are injured for the next few weeks and will be badly missed.
had an away win agains tNAC and a home win against Roda after the break but were helped by being awarded a pretty soft penalty in the Roda match.

I was first looking at overs @1.72 which is quite high for the Dutch league but i opted for the home win in stead.
Zwolle might have a goal in them but without Mokotjo in midfield will be much less effective as they normally would.

Dont have odds for goal scorers but Steve de Ridder should be considered, Utrechts top scorers and Zwolle missing their best defender in Lachman.
De RRidder is/was also the man for penalties but Utrecht only got 2 this season, 1 missed by De Ridder. So not likely he will be on the next penalty, i reckon it might be Toornstra's turn now who is scoring regularly already this season. never took him though as the odds on him are usually not good enough for me.

They conceded 8 penalties this season, 3 missed.
Referee is Sanders who i cant find on any stats so cards/penalties i leave out.

    Getting annoying.
Bet looked good for an hour and then an Utrecht player was sent off
Zwolle came back to win it.

That 3rd time will have to wait till the weekend i think.

Tonight there is Vitesse - ADO and anything can happen there.
It might be a match Lass is interested in.

At first sight, most likely scenario is that ADO gets a hiding, they were absolutely terrible against Heracles on tuesday, lost 3-0 at home but reports said it could have been 0-7.

But..... Vitesse despite playing nice football is finding it hard to score goals at the moment. Piazon isnt doing it now. Leerdam is suspended tonight (afaik, need to see confirmation Got it) and apparently there will be no changes to their line up compared to their last 3 matches.
The match against AZ they lost 2-0 was the first time this season they didnt score. Defensively they are still solid enough.

ADO had their coach sacked on wednesday and no2 Henk Fraser has taken over till the end of the season.
Great memories of him during his playing career when he partnered up with John de Wolf to form "the most likely to kill you" central defense partnership in the Dutch football in the last 40 years.

He will make a few changes to the line up and bring in players he described as "willing to eat the artificial pitch"

With referee Van Boekel in charge there will probably be more cards than goals in this one.

    And completely unrelated:
Tomorrow there is the 5000 meter for men speedskating in Sochi and there can only be one winner unless the ice melts or the stadium collapses: Sven Kramer.

Odds @1.15 are **** but for those who do 15 fold with low odds, you should consider this one.

You can do a treble of him winning gold on the 5km/10km and the Dutch men winning the relay but that only amounts to @1.72 and it is speedskating, margin of errors is small.

I work for ladbrokes and we where advised by customer service that this is a winner and to adjust the settlement all bookies should be doing the same

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,482 ✭✭✭✭Collie D

Isn't it in the terms and conditions that first scorer is settled as per press association's initial verdict regardless of whether this is changed or not at a later date? If Ladbrokes are settling RVP winner fair play but if it was originally down as an Adam goal then I am pretty sure they're not obliged to pay out.

Although how it was ever an Adam goal and not an OG is beyond me but that's a different matter I suppose.

Fair play, so if I go in and hand them the docket they should be paying out no questions asked? Did you back with Ladbrokes too?

Do you really work for Ladbrokes? I rang customer service and they said they are not paying out?? It was customer service in England though if that makes a difference?

    Cheers

    Dutch Jupiler
    Emmen - Dordrecht
    Pick: Emmen DNB
    Odds: 2
    Bookie: bet365

Bet based o nwhat happened at Dordrecht during the winterbreak.

Lost 3 1st team players in Lima, Varela and van Nieff.
2 defenders and their playmaker and set piece taker.

With Van Nieff they have lost a guy who scored 9 goals and had about the same amount of assists.
Was felt already last week away to MVV where they lost.

Emmen is more or less just there to fill up the league but they are doing very well, especially at home.

Taking only home matches into account, they have the 4th best home record of the Jupiler league

Match of last week is comparable with this weeks match as it is a tricky away match for the league leaders Dordrecht and it is also, for Dutch standards, long trip to get there.

Alternatively if you rather take goals Emmen over 1,5 is also @2
I just rate the Dord GK quite high so Emmen might not get those 2 goals but still win.

couple of singles tomoro boyles as usual
both came in last week and suarez same
    price again

mata anytime assist 11/8 (2 assists in 2 for utd)
price isn't great but at home v fulham, the worst
team in the league and the worst defence by far
hard to see anything but a comfortable win
for utd and mata should be involved

    suarez anytime assist 5/2
an assist in each of his last three games
15 assists in 19 in the league for luis, 4 more than rooney
He has either scored or assisted in every single
home game he has played in this season and
on top of that liverpool at home have scored at least
two goals in every home game with suarez involved
this looks value compared to anytime goalscorer imo (11/10)
