Trying to decide on what size tank to do, it's not much extra to make the tank wider for the 14ft6 slat but I've heard that cattle get a lot dirtier on the bigger slat?? I can't understand why that would be. Anyone shed any light on this

makes no sense to me any, I have every size here, and on the 12ft 6 the gaps are smaller but that could be down to supplier

Ya only thing I could think of was that the bigger slat might have had less slots because of the span or some such

Feeding room would be the same for both pen sizes, but the bigger pen will not be stocked as tightly thus taking longer for the cattle to walk the dung through the slat which in turn gives the cattle a longer time in contact with the dung.

the more traffic you have on the slats the cleaner the slat will be

Have 14'6 here no problems a bit dirtier but I normally stick in 1 or 2 extra stock depending on size of cattle
