Sky installer couldn't install as he said a part needed to be ordered - any guesses?

My g/f's parents had booked a Sky+ install (they already have basic Sky) yesterday and when the installer turned up he couldn't do the install as he said that they needed to order some part or something and it would take 28 days to arrive. Apparently it will cost €25. Her dad didn't seem to listen too closely and hasn't a clue what they're supposed be ordering from Sky (they have to call in about it). Their box is in the attic and he think it might have something to do with that, but isn't sure. They use a magic eye type device in a couple of rooms, if that helps at all?

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what it might be. Having already waited 10 days to get the guy out, I'd like to try get it sorted for them sooner than another 28 days, if possible.
