Can you turn petrol x5 into commercial ?

    Just wondering can you turn petrol x5 into commercial Im not registered for vat so makes no difference if i cant claim vat back on desiel also dont do alot of mileage to make me go for desiel

    Yes you can, fuel doesn't come into it in the regulations afaik

    try and get one of the 4.6 or 4.8 models to make it even more worthwhile if you havent bought yet.

    Why do you say that bigger saving on tax ?
    Think they might very hard to run

    if your going for the 4.4 (which I assume you would be , as the 3.0 petrol is a waste of money) then streching to the 4.6 or 4.8 would be your best bet, fuel economy difference would be tiny but more power and a better spec in the car itself, no impact on tax and theyre all based around the M62-TU V8 block so parts arent too different either.

    Just a note on the commercial tax, as you may know anyway, the motor tax offices have clamped down on commercial tax a lot in the last couple of years. You may have a business so it wont matter but if you don't you might find it hard to tax.


    We used to have an old trooper commercial which we used maybe ten times a year for towing a fishing boat and launching off rough old slipways but we had to get rid of it as the tax office were very difficult about taxing it. It was in my fathers name and he was retired.


    I think you have some options but maybe worth looking into.
