Ford focus dash lights

Hi guys the wife's 08 focus wouldn't start today for first time and after a jump start the battery isn't great so I know that's the issue but just noticed that the trip computer lights stay illuminated after we take out the key..is this normal or is this why the battery was drained?? This is a common problem IIRC. Can be linked to Bluetooth, keyless entry or a number of things?

It could be staying alive but it could take twenty minutes to shut down so lock it up and leave it alone come back in twenty minutes look in the window see is it gone out.

Is it a keyless entry model or just normal key. In My 07 focus the computer stays lit for a good 20 minutes that's the way they are set up. Maybe try take out the key lock it and come back an hour later and see if the light is gone off. Your battery may just be on the way out. A lot of motor factors will load test the battery for you and tell you if it needs replacing.

Normal key entry..just checked it there and lights out so fingers crossed it starts in the morning

It just started but needed a bit of welee with the accelerator so deformed needs a new battery methinks..thanks again for advice guys
