It's a genuine question. What more do you want to know about an unmarked Traffic Corp car?

RE two urban v rural patrol cars , it was generally thought that the 2 bulb squad cars were faster bigger engine cars , i remember the sierra around our way dark blue used to be 2.0gl, just back from liverpool today since tuesday , i seen loads of i30 estates quite nice looking , whether suitable for irish roads , im unsure

I vaguely remember the Macroom car as being a blue Sierra , every now and then you'd see a (White squad car ...the bandon car ) ... Our local station had a renault 4 ....

Thanks Dave. I think that the R4 may have been a bit bouncy on the road, as well as slow, but they were very reliable. While some people may not be keen on a R4, they are the equivalent of today's Fiesta or the Puntos of the late 90s, ability wise.

The Sierra was a great motor. Surprised that they had a Rekord though.

I remember the Rekord, white/blue stripe . Customs had a load of Rekord 2.2L unmarked yokes, the giveaway was the 2.2 badge, Opel never sold the 2.2 to the public here because the road tax was much dearer.

The Cherokee seems to belong to the Port O'Thority a Police Department.

Policing in the states is just so fragmented!

Nice looking car looks just like a rental to be honest. Be nice to see it lit up..can't see any grill lights.

Looks like it's unmodified, just a dash light.

    This too shall pass.

Ideal car for routine enquiries etc, just would not fancy it in a pursuit situation or God forbid a pursuit going wrong.

What's to say it wouldn't hold up better in a crash then a focus or avensis ?

Looks I suppose, I had a Hyundai Accent a few years back and thought it was a bit tinny.

Nice car. I see the new mondeo's are very easy to spot with 2 little lights stuck on top of the grille

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 825 ✭✭✭3fullback

I'm sure they have inserted blue light bulbs in the headlights as well !!! Like in the new mondeos and focuses !

Certainly wouldn't notice it at first glance, side mirrors tucked in, it blends in well. Does the unmarked part well, but performance-wise we're still only talking about a 1.6 Diesel family car which is very disappointing.

It's a branch car not a tango so I wouldn't mind about the spin , quick enough earlier on blues

The first video has Garda members that look like RSU, but there isn't any in Dublin, are these just unlucky detectives?
