That's mad. Although most places that have anything to do with car parts will over charge if they think the person is not car knowledgable and they can get away with it. Although ever time I but parts for my focus I feel like I'm being robbed there far more expensive for parts when compared with Opel and vw etc that's main dealer prices and motor factors. A fuel filter for my car is 90 euro with 12.5% discount no joke. And I compared main dealers that's what they all charge. At time I was stuck for the part but even since I've looked and non ford ones are 60 euro.
Seems ridiculous for a 1.6 diesel at least your talking about a 530 When I had the astra I used to go in the local Opel dealer who are sound out buy an air, oil and fuel filter and have a fair bit of change left out of 50 euro I miss them days big time
anyway hoping to get the focus serviced tomorrow although I'm snowed under in assignments. Have all the parts got since last weekend just need the time now.
Whatever it is about fuel filters as I learned on here, they can be any type of ball park figure, from €10+ to the extreme!
It really is crazy though!
Oil and filter in that case woulld come to €57 and air filter was €60 :rolleyes:0 -

The reason it's expensive with the 1.6 focus is that you change the whole metal housing it's not just a matter of changing the paper element or whatever. Still I suppose its not too bad when you can service the car your self I hate to bring my focus in to a main dealer for a service when considering the price of parts or even way worse in your case a 530d into a BMW garage I'd imagine the cost would be absolutely mad.

I'm the same every receipt gets the date and mileage written on it of when the part was installed. I also keep a simple excel spreadsheet. It's great to be able to look back in a years time and see when exactly the part was replaced and at what mileage. Also the focus doesn't have a service reminder so it's good to be able to look up the mileage it was last serviced at if I forget.0 -

Your better off without one as its just like a countdown to the next money outlay! Service ahead of me tomorrow, hopefully the rain stays off!
I'm the same I meant to get it serviced last week but was to busy doing other things. It never bothers me to much spending money on filters and oil it's all the other parts that are the problem 0 -

Id say you're wrong, besides even if he gets 11 or 10.5 he's laughing as that was asking on his car.
Clever move in my opinion Cleveland, it'll work out for you quicker for definite and possibly better
