Willing to pay his MAX value.

Looking at my BBVA players, I've got...
    Muniain
    Xavi
    Mathieu
    Arbeloa
...so 3 of them over 30, which always worries me :(

De Marcos and Turan as well, but looks like Athletic and Atheltico are done I'd imagine.

EDIT: Oh, Muinian is safe too then.

I'd not be so sure on Turan, he MIGHT get a rise yet, I would be surprised!!!!

Sir Bobby 'Redknapp' Robson steered FC Porto to victory against AJ Auxerre.

FC Porto beat AJ Auxerre 4 - 2 in a thrilling Friendly encounter.

Giovinco scored a goal and was later voted Man of the Match for his performance.

Tello and Benteke were also amongst the goalscorers.

with the current struggle to prise 90+ or highly rated players from squads, im looking to loan or buy with a buy back option in place,
looking like this is going to be a long season!!

OK peeps ... I've got 87rated players listed available for loan.

If you are in the lower divisions and interested, thrown in a bid ... I'll take a look at squads and see who could do with them most ... I'd prefer they went to a team where they'll get match time rather than sitting on the bench ( they could do that here at FCP.

    Player Pos. Age Rate Value
    MLAPA, Peniel AM(RL),F(RLC) 22 87 5.5M
    PETERSEN, Nils F(C) 25 87 4.5M
    RIVIÈRE, Emmanuel F(C) 23 87 5.3M

    Thanks

just 2 loan bids so far ...

Sad to miss out on Salah. I know the reasons were explained in the other topic, but I'd been sniffing round him for a while and had been lead to believe I'd be let know when he'd be going so I could at least put in an offer :( I'd have easily tried to put in a better offer too :(

Fair play Porto. Think you've got a cracking player there :(

Sold Genoa's players before he quit

    Well that leaves them unmanageable

I've seen the reasons and tbh I still think it's bull**** that he sold players before he quit

    What reasons?

Surely leaving the promising players for the next manager in to have instead of selling them off would have been fairer

This place seems to be going downhill lately

I will admit it rubs me up a bit the wrong way too, but there is nothing that can be done about it. It was an argument put forward when there was a discussion about turning off monitoring and it was disregarded and said it wouldn't happen. But it's not against the rules and there isn't a way to reverse it now, so that's how it is.

Let's just make sure we have another poll at the end of this season. Now people can see why others wanted it off so badly, not for the good ofthe gameworld but for themselves

In fairness to you GT, I wouldn't blame you for anything. Had I been offered the chance to buy Salah, I'd have been all over it too. And in fairness, I believe you when you said you didn't know what was to follow.

    Lads get over yourselves,

It wasn't to damage the team, it wasn't against any rules, and if monitoring was on I don't see why they should have been reported other than jealousy.

As laid out in the other thread the deals were fair. There are still plenty of good players at Genoa, and a shed load of great youngsters. Along with that, there are another load that were bought to rise that will rise increasing the club's value even more.

Salah a great player yes, but the deal was fair. As for the other 3 how many even knew them, Bertrand because he was at Chelsea but it is a long shot for him to make it there, if you think selling the other Two was damaging to the club you are having a laugh.

Nobody was in for Salah when I bought him originally from Basel, he was a great player back then. Don't wait until these players get linked to Chelsea or Liverpool to become interested in them. Do some research and you will find loads, you will find loads still at Genoa too.

A couple of players already do this, but people twist and moaned about squad caps and hoarding instead of embracing it.

Anyway I had my reasons and stand by them.

That is the last I am going to post on it here, if anybody wants any other reasoning you can Pm me if you want.

Wonitoring wouldn't have flagged any of those deals. All fair deals too 4 different clubs lads.

Listen, there's two levels for me here.

One, I do feel a tad burned a bit, and I know this point will come across as being bitter. But twice in the last 10 days, you had told me I was "top of the line" for when Salah went on sale and you'd make sure I'd get a bid in. So I kind of feel I was strung along a bit there. But that's really petty, I know. But cards on the table, I'll be honest about it.

The other is Salah was one of your best players, and I'd personally believe that once you decided to quit, the last thing you should have been doing was offer players to people. While it was "fair" to you and others, I'd argue once you decided to quit, it wasn't your decision to make then. Salah, at Chelsea, is a nailed on 90 imo, and would have been the biggest bargaining chip any new manager had coming in. A far bigger chip to negotiate with than the 17m you've left him with.

If the intentions were to leave the club in the best shape possible as well and you were dead set on selling players, why not announce he was for sale and get the best deal possible? Yeah, GT's was good but I know I could have bettered it, and I'd imagine a lot of managers would have taken a crack at bettering it as well. But even that would have been unfair, since it leaves the next manager without one of his best players imo.

I do think had monitoring been turned on, these are the type of deals that would have been reversed pretty quick; not because of "jealousy", but because it's unfair to start selling players right before you leave. AFAIK, "dodgy deals" do include ones done right before a player quits. As I said last night, this type of problem was put forward when discussing turning monitoring off and was shot down, and low and behold, here we are/

On a related note, I found out this morning that it is actually against the code of conduct to sell one player in one gameworld in order to get another player in another gameworld

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,721 ✭✭✭Al Capwned

    Gotta agree with tsc's sentiments.
Regardless of whatever reasons the ex genoa manager had for selling those players, the fact remains that he weakened the squad in the knowledge that he was quitting.
I've said it already and I'll stand by it. It was poor form and I'm surprised he done it...

I didn't consider it "cheating". As I said, it was just another negotiation tool. But yeah, it's specifically called out in the rules as being something that could see accounts suspended if caught.

    http://www.soccermanager.com/code-of-conduct.php

    Point 3b.
There are numerous ways in which you could be deemed to have broken the rules in relation to the transfer market:

    b.Agreeing to sell a player to another manager in one Game World in return to them selling you a player in another Game Worlds;

If Soccer Manager believe that you have broken the rules in relation to the transfer market, it may, in its sole and absolute discretion, take the appropriate action against and/or suspend your account.

So I'll throw my hands up there. It is against the rules, it is defined as cheating .

First it was bitterness, followed by jealousy and witch hunts and now we are calling for suspensions...

Im waiting for the show trials to begin........ Oh wait we have actually done that too... :D

Selling players before one quits is bad form. It's far worse then buying players from unmanaged teams. At least everyone gets a fair craic when buying from an unmanaged club when it was still allowed.

I know it was voted on and majotiry ruled, but if monitoring was on at least something could have been done about it. Now we can do Jack sh1t. As i said before, it worked perfectly fine (better IMO) the way the rules were last season. They were tried, tested and worked well for most part.

tbf mate, I dont think anyone is calling for suspensions....

And I'm not at all bitter or jealous about xGW transfers - I just don't agree with them.
