Maximum charges that apply to consumers when roaming in the EU from 1 July 2013 are set out below
• Voice price cap - 1 July 2013, calls made 29.53 cent/calls received 8.61cent (including VAT)
• SMS price cap - 1 July 2013, 9.84 cent (including VAT) • Data price cap - 1 July 2013, 55.35 cent (including VAT)


Give you an example. You go to England and make a phone call for the duration of one hour.

EU RATES €0.29.53 X 60 is around €17.70

VODAFONE RATES €0.30 x 60 is €18

Overcharged 30c. Now 30c might not seem like much money but if you were making a lot of calls it all adds up

Texts

100 texts 100 x €0.9.84 = €9.84

100 texts 100 x €0.10 = €10

Overcharged €0.17c

Sure most people wont mind been overcharged by €0.0.47c for a call or €0.0.16c for a text but if your a heavy user it does all add up and plus they are actually breaching EU roaming regulations.
