Basically every 1 or 2 weeks I get stopped and searched by the Gardai, for no reason all i'm doing is walking, they always come up with excuses as to why they're searching me eg. 'I thought you were smoking a joint' (It was a rollie), 'That field you came out of is well known for drug use' etc. What can i do/say to stop this? thanks

Each time you are stopped, politely ask the Garda to see ID, and ask for his badge number. Keep a note of the time, date and location and badge number and after a while building this info up, bring it to the sargeant or someone else in a higher position in the local station.

...then you're in their favourite demographic for stop and hastle. Back at around your age for one or two years I had to take a long route home (ironically past the cop station) because of the constant grief from patrols on the direct way. Questions would be asked with batons drawn etc. It eases off when you get older is the only consolation I can give ye. That, and ye'll learn their habits and how to avoid them.

    This is terrible advice OP.

When stopped again just say 'I know my ryfs, bruv. You ain't got nufink on me bruv'

    That should work a treat.

He didn't ask ''what can I do to get more grief from the Gardai?''.

    Field.

    Foddering the cattle.
    Shearing the sheep.
    Ploughing the ground.
    Admiring the nature.

The list of things to do in a field is endless.

Showing your age there Chucken baby, cattle are foddered in slatted houses, sheep are sheared in crushes, farmers don't plough fields any more, they just live off the CAP, nature is only admired on tellly.

    Fields are only good for two things these days;

    1) Taking shortcuts

    2) Riding young wans

But its nearly spring! The cattle must be out by now? The ones down here are hardy enough, they let themselves out :)

As for the sheep. Sure the strip off at the end of November.

Not sure what CAP is so I'll let that one go. But where do the spuds grow if the field isn't ploughed?

As for me showing my age......I do believe its not called riding anymore :D

Don't you know that if you need to crap he has to give you his hat, but he can't arrest you unless he's wearing his hat?

Also, tell him you're a free man moving across the land. They'll never bother you again.

I think that rule is for pregnant women in England.
