My friend posted me a small parcel (just reg mail) cost £6.40 last Wednesday 15th and it still hasn't got here!

Just wondering does it usually take this long or whould I wait it out?
He def post it, sent a pic of receipt.

Anything from 3 days to 3 weeks in my experience.
Is there a tracking number on the receipt?

    Nope,
Just the date and time it was posted and the first line of my address.
Phew.. wow though, three weeks is a bit mad from UK - Ireland?!
As long as I eventually get my little parcel I'll be happy :)

I ordered somthing from amazon, from a uk seller. It took 2 weeks to arrive, buy which point id already made a complaint about it. How can something take so long to arrive?

usually it because people hand write addresses and their writing is dreadful.

Where possible, get printed addresses onto envelopes and parcels - auto readers will then direct it efficiently and quickly.

I did a test a couple of years back - sent 2 letters at exact same time. One with printed address, one with not great handwriting. Both posted at same time to same address (birmingham to Kildare). Printed one arrived 2 days later, written on took 6 days.

I asked in the GPO & a guy there said not to worry. Luck of the draw! Could get it in 3 days or two weeks!

Is this happening with a lot of Royal Mail deliveries? I ordered a item from a seller Amazon UK on the 5th of January and it still hasn't arrived! Given though the delivery date estimate I got was 11 January - 21 January, but even now it's two days late! Will my package eventually come do you think? It was quite expensive and I don't mind a delay if I know it's going to arrive eventually! I ordered something else off Amazon last week from a different seller and it's already arrived so I thought it was a problem with the seller, but maybe not? Could anyone shed some light on this please? :)

    Royal Mail is a joke!
I receive letters from the same UK address every week. Sometimes a letter that was posted after another letter will be delivered to me before the first letter.

This was a parcel, and the label was printed.

I really hope it gets here eventually! It's almost a week late! I paid a good bit of money for it, and if it definitely comes I don't really mind about a delay!

There are delays at the ballymount sorting office due to the fire at oxygen recently.

A quiet important letter from the uk was sent from gatwick on the 23rd. I'm from limerick . It still hasn't arrived yet. Is there much of a difference between 1st class and 2nd class postage , I remember someone said it was posted as 2nd class mail .
