€3,300 after a bit of negotiations
    €550 for transport & expenses
and if Revenue's website worked, I'd tell you how much the VRT was...

This was on Ultimate7.co.uk at a time, so it's one of the finest of the breed.

79k miles so very low for this cruiser.

    5.4 V12 - Winning

Lovely one all round. Nice alternative to an ugly and problematic E65 735i.

    Tempting car especially to LPG.
A steal at that amount, certainly preferable to the early e65s imo.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,350 ✭✭✭Sobanek

    €1,781 for the VRT.

Dunno if its up already and a little over budget at 6950 but the power of the haggle or fat wad of cash works wonders.

    2002 mercedes s600
Cant be too many around. Dont even think I'd pay the 6 for it. My love for the w140 would stand in the way.

Getting your money's worth from the €1,809 tax. :D

Feels like such an Irish thing to say though. :pac:

Absolutely crazy in this country that a 6.0 car costs the same to tax as a 3.0 diesel :/
Are those exhaust pipes factory fitted though? Seems aftermarket

    Exactly.

    No mileage.
    No tax.
    No NCT.
    No mention of servicing.
Reg deliberately blocked out so you can't find out yourself.

Has a whiff of being parked up for a long time to me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,289 ✭✭✭jackofalltrades

That Range Rover's probably better suited for the Bangernomics thread.

Yeah he has it relisted now mileage is 220000.
Just out of curiosity i would like to know how bad it is. being a passenger car rust should not be that big a problem.

Why would it being a passenger have any impact at all on rust? If it lived close to the coastline at any point in its life it could be destroyed in rust. Doesn't make a blind bit of difference whether its passenger or not. Rust doesn't differentiate :D

Its an aluminium body so rust shouldn't be a problem anyway. Portion better off breaking it and scrapping the body. Aluminium is expensive these days

A few pages back I tried to figure out the reg number judging from the front of the car pic.
    96-KE-1148 I think it is

    More foreign luxobarges.

    media?id=d291a9dc3e3aca44f37b27a41a1c3dc6&width=640&height=480

    Mercedes-Benz 500 SEC (W126 Coupe)

    1987, 168000 miles.
Asking £2,295 so you'll get it down to 2k no problem.
    Car: €2,550
    Transport & Expenses: €600
VRT: €1,444 (CL500 on VRT website - only 500SE and SEL available - no SEC)
Total: €4,600 (€4,000 if you don't think T&E qualifies as a price factor - some people do)

    media?id=a3100eec8febb2a0420527866179e0d2&width=640&height=480

    Jaguar S-Type 4.0 V8

2001, 63k miles, so barely run in!
Asking £1,895 only! Get yourself 200 quid of for "petrol" and it will cost you the following:

    Car: €2,150
    Transport & Expenses: €600
    VRT: €720 only!
    Total: €3,470 for a 63k mile, 4.0 V8, 13 year old Jag.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,536 ✭✭✭✭L-M

I'd consider that Jag to be 300 percent of it's value at that money.

63k miles and not a single one available in the country.

Considering some went for sub 1k values here recently I'd tend to agree

Over priced by 1k? What makes you say that? There are none anywhere near the price you think its worth, so how can it be overpriced?

That's for sale the last 4-6 months or so, I'd think the owner might be open to offers at this stage. Nice colour for it.
