I've got a group of friends that are big into heavy metal, they are an amazing bunch. But what I don't like about some of them is that they can get very judgmental when it comes to other people's music taste. I've always been more of a rock chic but lately I really enjoy alternative more and have always loved chanson and some classics and when I dance I need good beats, so it's either some current pop craze or Latin music. They used have a very mixed opinions about me from what I've heard. When a couple shares an interest in music I think of it as a great bonus. It's true that for some people it might be more significant. I am very "tolerant".

I am somewhat of a metal fan, but again I'm more into rock music than metal per se (but let's not get into sub genres and all that nonsense) and I hang around with a load of metal fans, who slag me off for not being into a load of Norweigan Death Metal bands that only seven people have ever heard of :pac:

Saying that, all of them have quite diverse taste in a lot of different music, as do I, but there is a certain musical snobbery inherent in the metal scene alright.

As for what the conversation's been in the last few pages, to me a person's musical taste, and "lifestyle choice" is a very important factor in a relationship. I'm not saying that a potential girlfriend must listen to exactly the same bands as me, but they'd have to at least have an appreciation for the music I listen to, and vice versa, because I listen to music all the time. All. The. Time.

I haven't been with a girl in over 25 years who wasn't a rock chick, hippy, goth, punk or whatever. "Norms" for want of a better word just don't do it for me at all.

    No offence :D

    Yeeeuurghh.
That puts me in mind of a guy who was in the Q at the Motherwell post office a few years ago.
There was quite a fair crowd in the shop and he was told to go to booth no7,as he approached it he then proceeded to pick his hooter and everyone was watching him in disgust.
He then tried to flick his greeny gilbert off his finger without success,by that time everyone was laughing at him, then the dirty barsteward rubbed his grogger underneath the counter, his face was as red as beetroot by that time, poor fella had the eyes of the world looking at him.:D

On the contrary I went for a couple of dates with a guy, who was into rap. That only. Now I don't mind some of it but I surely can't be listening to it all day, it'd drive me nuts. It didn't work out because I've found out that we didn't like the same books, movies and scene in general. But I remember thinking (for the first time ever) that the music preference was a bit of a red flag :(
I'm into rock, mainly Hendrix, myself but can quite easily sit down and listen to Thomas Newman and Runestone, one thing I can't stand is jazz music and Jimi's old man Al told me Jimi was heading in that direction before his life was tragically cut short.
I could never imagine seeing/hearing Jimi play jazz/rock,though he was influenced a lot by groups like Chicago and Buddy Miles.

Oh no... i couldn't agree less, high heels or stilettos especially on women are a major turn on! But only if the woman wearing them has good calves to go with them! Whatever those types of shoes do to a woman's foot, (whatever way it distorts them ha) really shows of any definition in a woman's leg and toned legs are on top of my list way above boobs or bums! Long, smooth, toned legs mmmmm... :)

That's another thing i really like actually, tall women! being tall myself i can appreciate a girl with a bit of height but the celtic genes have blessed the majority of women over this way with a smaller stature!

Apparently the position a high heel puts the foot in, the sort of arch which can be seen in this sketch , mimics the position of a woman's foot during orgasm. So maybe that's why you like it ;)

Agreed! My taste is most alternative/indie/rock but I can appreciate a good pop song, and I don't care who the artist is, if it's good, it's good. Far more a turn off for me is a music snob who will be totally close minded to good music because it's outside their chosen genre.

Ha i've never thought of that before, and it definitely helps to make me feel less weird about my odd foot fetish ha! This is the answer i'm now going to use when trying to explain myself in future! Good work!:D

Realistically though, how often do you see a woman's foot during (her) orgasm?
I'd guess not enough for it to become "a thing"?

That said, I guess I've spotted it a few times in my peripheral vision...just behind my ear!

I don't tend to look at my own feet at that point tbh :P Maybe it's subconscious!

I like the way some women stand with their legs crossed when they're in a queue, talking to someone, standing around etc. Very hot!

Oh god jazz... I tried. I really did. I can handle what I call a light jazz but too much of cacophony gives me a headache and overall makes me feel like I am going to have a mental breakdown

I spit when I'm smoking so maybe it's hypocritical but I can't stand women spitting. Was sat on a bus and saw a girl from the back, fag in her hand, great walk, then a dirty gob on the ground. Very disappointing.

But I've never seen a woman's leg during orgasm. How could anyone see that with the lights off?

    Instant turn off: music nazis.

I really don't get it. Music is a personal thing to me and really dependent on my mood - sometimes I like something a bit mellow and introspective; other times I'll happily listen to whatever shyte is on the radio.

I like to go to the odd gig so it's a bonus if we have some common ground, but ruling someone out entirely because they don't happen to have the same artists as you on their iPod? Strange.

Unless I come across something mad like Garth Brooks or Daniel O'Donnell. Though saying that, assuming they weren't of questionable intelligence (are there any O'Donnell fans that aren't?), I'd probably have great craic ripping the piss.
