You played your wildcard and the next gameweek had to take a 4 point hit. That, for me, is a huge sign of a wildcard failure. Anyone who has the chance to change their whole team without a points deduction but then needs a hit the week after hasn't used the wildcard right IMO.

You've also used the wildcard which should give you a quick points boost yet you've fallen 5k places. For example, I haven't used my WC, have had two of my worst weeks of the year, yet you've only outscored my team by ten points in the two GWs. I've also only fallen 3k places to your 5k.

Anyone can have a bad gameweek even with the best players but two GWs of 600k and 800k isn't good after a wildcard.

You mention above only changing Lukaku and Ozil, yet you started the GW23 transfers thread declaring an interest in Boruc. There's also the chance that Coleman could be gone for a considerable period.

I told you at the time that playing the wildcard too early was your downfall last year and I think it could well be again this year.

They're just points I'd make to anyone on here. Every time I see people who have used a wildcard mention a 4 or 8 point hit I chuckle.

I'll straight up admit I played mine too early. I'm gonna have to make a bunch of changes over this week and next to get it right.

Even if you play a late wildcard, the players you get in could get injured the next week. So I don't think you can really use that as a stick to beat people with. Whether it's better to use it early or late is largely down to luck, budget and potentially important transfers.

Using your wildcard early or late shouldn't really matter too much. It's more about the decisions you make when you use it and how great the need to use it is.

I'd have to disagree. I always find using it late a good advantage. There can be alot of change in teams throughout January. For example, two weeks ago people weren't aware Lukaku's playing time would be under threat from the Traore signing.

Several people in my personal leagues rather naively IMO planned their wildcards without taking Aguero into account. The only way for them to get him in now is through hits.

Of course, the injuries can happen but I was picking up on Rory's comment that he only wants to change 2 players. He has mentioned changing another and may be forced into changing Coleman. This is after he already took a 4 point hit last week.

Didn't get Aguero and it's f*cked me completely. Plus I didn't put a plan to easily get Aguero in. Plus I picked Nastasic, and he's not playing. Plus, although he's done well in the last 2 weeks, Gerrard is playing a new defensive role.

I think this will hinder them in the long run. He's a necessity IMO. Who are the rest of your defenders? Ward from Palace is great value and just above 4 million.

Already have Ward. Also have Chester (which is something else I'll have to deal with) and Sagna.

So I'm about have a pretty low budget defence when this is done. But my team value is very low and as I say, I think Aguero is a must have.
