He's only 5.5, but that's a good point you make. The extra 0.7 would be useful in upgrading a defender.
Yeah, and you're probably more likely to get a goal from Chamakh anyway. Not that you'd ever want to start either.

Essentials I have are: Mert (will probably sell for Kos), Coleman (will probably sell for Baines), Hazard, Aguero and Suarez

I have Silva but do I really really need Yaya? Is he that vital to have instead of Silva?
I think Aguero, Yaya and Silva might be overkill

I live in fear of Yaya as he is destroying me in my league as i'm the only top contender without him. I have now rejigged my wildcard to give me Yaya, Silva, Hazard, Wilshere (with funds to move to Ramsey once back), Aguero, Suarez, Adeboyeur (with funds to move to sturridge if needed). Back lines of Boruc, Chester, Ward, Kos, Coleman. I'm undecided between aspilicueta, Evans or Kolorov for the last defender.

Most importantly is that Yaya is now in my team so i can forget about him! his 13 points this week was a real sucker punch.

When you move Wilshere to Ramsey and I move Ozil the same way our teams are going to be scarily similar.

During this wildcard season a lot of teams will be similiar. The double gameweeks will break things up but they are a bit away yet.

Don't want to let wildcard go to waste, but nothing jumping out at me

    Currently have

    Hart (K Davis)

    Zaba/Mert/Coleman/Terry (Faye)

    Lallana/Yaya/Ozil (Assaidi/Canas)

    Giroud/Lukaku/Suarez

Was thinking Hart to Scezny but already have 3 arsenal
Maybe Hart to Scezny and Giroud to ????

    Any suggestions welcome...........

I don't think Yaya is a must have when Silva is available for almost a million cheaper.

You'll have an extra million but you'll have to do alot of praying for the rest of the season. Maybe even resort to creating a Yaya Toure Voodoo Doll...

Over the last 2 seasons Yaya has brought in 53 points more than Silva. That is significant enough.

He is a must have when everyone of your opponents has him. I tried the Silva differential route for a few weeks now and that has not worked therefore Yaya and Silva will both take pride of place in my team now. Sickening to have to spend 10.1m on Yaya though!

get in aguero for giroud or lukaku . That will involve dropping either zab or hart. Mert to kos will save you some money towards that. Dont think faye plays change him. Id also look at upgrading one of assaidi/canas.

I fear I will have to finally give in to this unarguable logic in the end, sorry anti Yaya, I'm too logical in the final shake down to hold out any longer....

I'm still going to go for the 'you know who' differential if he's fit for next Gameweek.

For those not sick of me banging on about it....RVP.

Running through options with the wildcard and trying to figure out which is better Ade and Lallana or Eriksen and J-Rod + 1.8?

I guess the 1.8 gets me Hazard rather than Oscar but realising that there's that much in price between them is actually frightening.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,339 ✭✭✭G1032

This is a potential WC team for me

I don't like it although it might look grand on paper
I don't like having both Yaya and Silva and I don't like the lack of Arsenal attacking cover. I don't want to sell Cabaye just yet. 0.2 left over though to potentially bring Ramsey in for him
Ozil is not an option though as it stands, although I won't rule him out completely. He'd be easy to downgrade to a fit again Ramsey
Ozil would need to be there at the expense of Yaya

I currently have Oscar-Lallana-Ade, but I think Hazard could be close to necessary. Have to funds to upgrade Oscar, but I'll give it a week or so yet...

Something that has crossed my mind is that City are playing Spurs (a) and Chelsea (h) in their next 2 games. Would it be madness to stick Cazorla who plays Southampton (a) and Palace (h) and maybe bring Silva back in then. It's not likely his price will rise much if at all and I'll still have Aguero at the same time

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,268 ✭✭✭IsMiseMyself

It's worth a go. I don't think Silva justifies his price--certainly not with the next two game's he got. Yaya's a beast and far more of a must-have. Carzola could be an interesting differential. Course he could be useless too. :D

I fancy City to run amok against Spurs (again!) but not likely to be many goals in the Chelsea game

True it's just I saw my team and having 3 players playing in the same "tough" game off the back of the wildcard may not give me the boost I need although it's more the Palace game the following week for Arsenal that caught my eye :pac:

    Option number 2
This one without Silva. Don't fancy Cazorla but he's the answer to my lack of Arsenal attacking cover until Ramsey is back

    Any thoughts??

Be wary of overloading on City players, couple of tricky fixtures upcoming and likely blank week in Feb when league cup final is on

Moussa Dembele anyone as a cheapish 4th/5th mid? Played the 90 in his last four games, bagging a couple of assists and a goal in the process.

    Wildcard idea I'm toying with..

3 big defenders, 4 big mids, 2 big forwards + 1 off my bench to field a full 11 each week

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,700 ✭✭✭Danger781

    ^ Any thoughts lads?

Have Szczesny in goal at the moment so tempted to just keep him and bring in a soton defender instead.

I'd get rid of Silva and get in Wilshire/Ramsey, and upgrade Long to JRod, Wellbeck or Lukaku if funds allow. Or swap Erikson for Lallana and get Adebayor up front.

I'd like Adebayor I think. Reckon he will do well. Or the new Everton lad, Traore.

  • Considering

    Mannone , McGregor
Koscielny, Vlaar, Ward, Turner (Car), Olsson (Nor),
Cabeye , Hazard, Yaya, Cazorla, Mutch
    Aguero, Sturridge, Lukaku

    Play 3-4-3 every week.

I'd downgrade Cazorla to Wilshere & get Suarez in

Ade should be there instead of Lukaku also.

Have to pretend he's not playing. (stubborn non-Suarez bet)

    Currently have Ade,Negredo,Lukaku.

I'm not sure I prefer Ade over Lukaku for the run in...
