Hi I have a 2010 Peugeot 308 1.6 diesel that I bought second hand recently. When shutting down I notice a shudder from the engine, nothing violent or anything like that. Is this normal for diesel engines? Running fine other than that.

    Thanks!

My volvo diesel always does that. Nothing to worry about

They all* have a touch of that - symptomatic of the heavy flywheel in a diesel. The absence of throttle vacuum doesn't help either.

*NOTE: I am not interested in hearing from a thousand low-hairlined Passat drivers whose cars don't do that. :D

Diesel shutdown shudder isn't uncommon. Swing by a diesel mechanic and get an opinion if you like, it's probably free for them to give a quick listen.
