Issues with CeX on Mary Street

Around Christmas time I bought a PSPGO in this place, but I didn't get a chance to play it until this week. When I had a proper look I found it didn't have the correct charger; the one it was sold to me with turned out to be a Sony Experia charger and it doesn't have a USB attached so I can't connect my Go to a computer (which is one of the main features of the console).

I went in yesterday to explain the situations politely, telling them I couldn't do what I wanted with the console and that I didnt' feel comfortable leaving it plugged in with a mobile phone charger. How they treated me was really shocking, the guys were really distrusting and unhelpful, the manager even start yelling at me about how I was trying to say they were running some sort of scam. I'm 27 years old, I dont appreciate being yelled at about PSPGo chargers.

I am a regular customer and an avid gamer, I wasn't angry and I paid for a product that I can't use to its fullest potential. I think they should have been falling over themselves to help me but instead they kept banging on about how it was a discounted model, I paid €80 for it, which is a lot of money to me and I don't think its fair for me to have to absorb any more cost.

Do consumers have rights any more?

Last time I bought something from CEX was in London 1992 (I think), wouldn't buy from them ever again. My only advice is check everything (especially game disc for scratches etc.) before you buy it, because once out the door they don't seem to care.

    Hope you get it sorted

I don't think I will, I just think they have this really unfriendly approach, it was like their way of dealing with returns is to try and humiliate the customer until they leave.

Same in 1992 lol, they wouldn't exchange an unplayable scratched to death PC game I bought. So I left (staff members were high giving each other) and walked up to their Goodge Street branch, received a credit note and returned to the Rathbone Place just to rub it in.

I really did actually like the concept of the store and bought a lot of import games from them back in the days, but after that day, I heard similar stories from other gamers and bought elsewhere.

    Hi,

Sorry you had a bad experience but this isn't the forum to air your grievances.

    Regards,
