Your favourite and least favourite County?

You can't name your home county. I've a great fondness for many places around the country but I always liked Cork, the city and county, a fun place good decent people, beautiful scenery as well especially the West, the likes of Mizen Head. A great GAA history to boot at both codes, I know as a Tipp man that they respect Cork in this regard. Tipp GAA people regard any Cork side no matter what state a particular squad is in or what level as a serious outfit. You don't put on the blood and bandage if you're not a good player.

Least favourite is probably Down because I think its the only county I've never been in. No offence..

I like County Londonderry, the city of Londonderry is a horrendous dump by and large but the county is beautiful. Coleraine is the nicest and friendliest little town in the United Kingdom and every regular Britain-visitor needs to check it out.
Worst county is Armagh, and particularly the south of the county. A piece of land offered to and rejected by Collins in the negotiations, it is populated by drug addicted, insanely suicidal, terrorists, by and large ( I must make it clear that most SA people aren't violent psychotic republicans).

If the OP (which doesnt specify a least favourite county) meant the counties within the Republic of Ireland then id say, least favourite would be the annoying Cavan, Monaghan and Donegal, who have segregated the Ulster province.
My favourites would be Kerry, whose inhabitants perpetuate the "thick ignorant drunken Catholic Irishman" to an almost artistic level, or County Dublin, whose inhabitants still respect and recognise the throne as the rightful ruler of the southern counties of Ireland, and are open to helping restore unity within the commonwealth.

Good point and Down do wear very nice jerseys. I think I'll change my answer to Laois, from the mighty O'Moore Clan who challenged the O'Connors at Tara to a boring commuter belt county.

Live in Dublin, from Waterford. Think my favorite is probably Wicklow or Kerry, Cork and Galway both very close though. Don't really like Limerick.

Don't like Galway as they all think they are cool just because they live in Galway. Sligo is full of smelly people and it's always raining. I like Leitrim - no pretense there and no traffic lights.

Cork, as an entire county is fantastic.

The coastline is stunning from east to west, once the weather is right and the small towns that pepper it are stunning.
The city, at first, second and third glance is a grey, rainy depressing hovel. It's filthy, and flood damage is still visible in spots where the corpo have ignored eyesores. The failings, however, are made up for by the people. There's a handful of crappy nightclubs there surrounding whatever gorby's new Cantillon incarnation is. Corkonians pack out these places every week and despite the rubbish interior, the people make these places rocking spots. The ugly parts of Cork are overcompensated by the soundness of the locals.
They also showed the maturity and friendliness of the Irish (if only other counties had the ability to do so) in welcoming HRH to Cork the other year. Places like the English market, and the Richard Beamish Grounds in the Mardyke are flourishing and culturally attractive. When QE2 was in Ireland, as a first time visiting foreign head of state, the nation called on us all to be diplomatic. We were, and Corks finest out waving the little flags was a symbol of that.

The boul Leitrims biggest moment ever is 20 years ago this year, when they won the Connacht Seinor football Title for the second time in 94. Future Dub Declan Darcy played on the side. Ireland also won the Eurovision that year with 'Rock an Roll Kids' in part performed by Charlie McGettigan a Drumshanbo native.

A great year for 'Lovely' Leitrim.

Don't have any favourite county, love any counties with a shoreline,So my answer would be my favourite would be coastline counties and less favourite be in land counties.

Wicklow is by far the best county in Ireland! The garden of Ireland and the jewel of the east coast! Dublin is a cool spot, as for the rest...............

Favourite - Galway. Especially out wesht. Trying to subtly convince the boyfriend to pack up and move out to Connemara with me. I'm happiest when I'm out there.

Donegal would be a very close second. Any Donegal folk I've met are some of the friendliest, easy-going and wise people you'll find anywhere. Stunning county too.

Least favourite - Meath.

Haven't seen a massive amount of Ireland in my adulthood and don't remember much from my childhood. Cavan is beautiful and spent a lot of time there as a kid as the whole of my dad's family are from there. Sligo is also gorgeous and people are sound and friendly. I loved Cork City where I was there too. Galway, gorgeous. The parts of Donegal I've seen are stunning and again, lovely people. Fermanagh also gorgeous. Kerry too.

Don't have a least favourite.
