What kind of bag could the new small piece of hand luggage be? Is it a handbag or school bag or what?

The Ryanair website gives the measurements of the second smaller bag that passengers are allowed bring into the cabin.

    http://www.ryanair.com/en/terms-and-conditions#regulations-cabinbaggage
One cabin bag per passenger* weighing up to 10kg with maximum dimensions of 55cm x 40cm x 20cm, plus 1 small bag up to 35 x 20 x 20 cms.

I would describe it as being a medium sized ladies handbag. But I think that you should go by the measurements given and not bag descriptions. They are too vague & your idea of what constitutes a medium sized ladies hand bag, could be very different to mine.

It's pretty much the size of a 1 litre bottle of spirits or 200 cigarettes roughly that it can be.

I bought, some years ago, a small bag which fits over my Samsonite cabin bag. It measures 20x20x30 cm. Should be OK? I don't know if Samsonite still make them, if not somebody should!!!
