That is very strange indeed. Is it the chunk loader itself that causes the crash, or something that it loads?

Also, is there a way to load the world in a 'still' or frozen mode, just to sort out the problem?

Temporarily disable chickenchunks? I imagine everyone that has a chunk loader can make a new one.

Or, as mentioned above is it something that is keeping chunks loaded like a quarry? Cause when you brought it back up, I was about to take down my quarry when I crashed earlier.

new vanilla server seems to be 'amplified'... i would prefer otherwise - it's a bitch to get around.

If there is no fix possible for the ftb map, may we restart the server? If people are not happy maybe a restart but save our player files to transfer to the new map?

Well, if Dec wants to see if its the quarries in the Deep Dark, i'm near them all if he can get it up for a few seconds at a time I can start getting rid of em cause I'm right infront of mine and not too far from yours.

But if it took a restart, then I wouldn't be the most devastated either. I'll work back towards what I had going last time round.

I picked my quarry up a few mins before it crashed so I don't think mine is still there.

The only thing I'd be a little aggrieved at is the thaumcraft research which is why I suggested keeping the player data files as I'm sure others of us who did thaum or ars research would find it nice to not have all their research wiped!
But certainly not the end of the world if a complete reset was in order.

And as I said, i'm litterly standing on mine cause I was breaking them when it crashed. So if we could get online for a few seconds at a time, then I could try get it out.

Any word on what the logs say about it? Cause if it is the quarries then it could be that as I broke mine its keeping the chunks loaded still despite not being there or something that could crash it or something? I dunno.. I'm just throwing things out there..

I remember Player was talking about before alright with FC2 that he has it set so that if an item were to cause a crash that would kill the server it would delete the offending item instead and print in the log. Maybe theres something like that public that could be used to track it down?

I'm not even sure how the Deep Dark is operating right now, because while its a dimension that has already had some terrain generated its is still one that relies on a mod that had to be subsequently disabled

TBH I'm surprised it didn't murder the server the second ExUtils got the boot

Anyway, I'm happy to start over as I wasn't crazy-far into Arse Magic (:P) and I always leave the thaumcrafting to others anyway

And had people generated chunks there? Regardless, the portal teleports you to the same X/Y Co-ords as in the overworld, from where the portal is set so we'd have generated new ones. (but even when it was disabled I'd imagine the game would work at re-creating the age fresh when it was reenabled)

And, turns out that spikes bug was belonged to Morph! Not ExtraUtils!

Edit:

I think ExtraBees is due to be added soon (Possibly by this weekend) as its just entered public release, maybe if we are to reset we wait for it to be released so we can get the world gen for the bees for those interested? Or is there much added in terms of WorldGen with it for hives?

Ok, ftb is fixed. I've removed all chunkloading equipment and put them in a chest next to where they were. Please don't replace them for now, until I've done a bit more investigation.

PortalGun mod has also been disabled temporarily as portals act as chunkloaders too.

Found a spare drive lying around so I managed to get ubuntu up and running on it (Decided I could do with a change

As a lot of you know, I'm hollowing out a mountain for make a bond villan style lair. After taking some brave pills, I ventured deep underground and found some diamonds. Much gnashing of teeth and aimless wandering around underground (along with more than 1 close call with some mobs), I found my way out to the daylight once again.

Rashers and evifeno had an enchanting table that I took my newly crafted diamond pick axe to. I had 30 levels of XP to forge a master weapon of block destruction. I really wanted Unbreaking or Silk Touch. Hit the table, what do I get? Fortune 3

Not terrible, there was some coal that needed mining anyway, so this was a help. Get back to the lair, start finishing off one floor, discover that whilst I still have about 300 blocks to go, I've nearly gone through my diamond pick already. Most disappoint. I have stashed it until such a time as I can make another enchanted item and mash them both together.

I think this is the first and last time I will attempt something like this without a metric fk ton of dynamite and/or the old Super Pick admin tool that existed about 3 years ago when I was still a server admin on what was DeV's server.

Get anvil --> Name Pick --> repair pic for 30/34 levels --> use fortune pick for loads of diamonds!

Yea, it's grand when I'm looking for diamonds, but I have other things I'm doing atm and I have a horrific track record with finding sparklies in the earth. I think as long as I've been playing multiplayer MC I've mined a total of maybe 50 diamonds. Clearly as I'm not a girl they're not my best friends and run away from me

On further inspection it seems to be a combination of TNT and fire damage. All my items have been stolen too.
