    Focus is a 1.6, jetta a 1.9. Focus has 166,000 miles while jetta has 84,000 or 135km.

Can get the jetta for 6k straight.

Is the jetta worth it or should I hold onto my focus?

1.9 TDi was an old but simple unit, probably less likely to give trouble. Downside is that it is not very refined and has a very narrow power band compared to the 1.6 TDCi.

BTW 84k miles is very low for a now 8 year old diesel. Does it have a service history to back up that low mileage? If it has no evidence then I wouldn't believe that mileage on an 8 year old diesel.

If it's a choice of the two and reliability is a concern, the jetta is the car to get.

Factor in the higher tax for both as well. Could you jump to an 08 model?

Yes spending thousands more to buy a 2008 car so you save just over €200 in motor tax makes perfect sense.

No I've no intention of going of an '08 Model.

    The car is perfect.

I just need to know if I'm making the right decision.

Anybody know what the 1.9 TDI engine is like on fuel consumption?
