Unlocking codes cant be found

Has anyone ever had an issue with unlocking a Vodafone phone (Huawei Ascend G510)?

I gave my details to two highly recommended people on the net and both couldn’t find the code. The second fella said to bring into a local shop and get them to unlock it with a cable, I have it with Duffys in Blanchardstown Main Street and told them what happened and that I need to cable unlock it.

I rang him to see if it was done (I dropped it in yesterday morning) and he is after saying they use the same system of get a code, put in different sim etc

I am now waiting for a call in the morning to be told the same story about cannot find codes.
