Hi

We are looking at getting this LED:

SAMSUNG UE40F5000 40" LED TV

Would you recommend a better model for the same or similar price?

I Have something similar but mine is a smart tv. Id spend a little bit more and make your one a smart tv.
I' ve no complaints on my model

Having just returned our Samsung Smart TV and replaced it with an LG I strongly advise the following: Insist on having the salesperson demonstrate an internet speed test (using e.g. speedtest.net) before you buy.

We were shocked to see how poor the results were on three different Samsung models including a series 8 (top of the range). So was the salesperson. He tries not to sell Samsung as he used to specialise in them (!). He then bought LG. The LGs were about ten times faster when we tested them in-store.

isn't it better to get the 'smart' separate to the tv?
