Google Chrome extension to find "most thanked" post in a thread!

    I've been experimenting with chrome extensions as a hobby lately and I wanted to build one for boards.ie so I decided I'd make an extension to scan through the first 100 or so posts on a thread and find the 'most thanked' post. Sometimes all I want to see in a thread is the wittiest reply, the best argument, funniest link etc. and I think the 'most thanked' post often shows this.

    You might find it to be useless but I thought I'd let ye know it's there anyway!

    It's fairly simple; just install it, open any thread, click the icon which appears in the address bar.

    Feedback, questions etc. welcome! :)

    Didn't work for me mate. Just jumped to the very last tab I had open.

    Good idea though, best of luck with it.

    EDIT: Got it working, just closed everything and reopened.

    that's standard man. You get that notification downloading any extension. I was skeptical at first too.

    Tried it there

    Good idea, ive often gone into threads where I wanted to see most thanks or best thanks, examples: Best Joke you ever heard or You laugh you lose,


    one suggestion to make it a very good extension is to make it descend from best thanked.

    Edited that post now, have it working. Just switched it off and back on again. Who knew!

    I tried it the Photos That Shook The World thread (which has almost 3000 posts) and it came back with this post that has 327 thanks, is that correct?

    It will only scan through the first 100 posts in a thread because any more and it would slow down calculations a lot, and the 'most thanked' post is usually in the first 100 anyway.

    I got the same


    It appears to be working, throws up some interesting results, the you laugh you lose best thanked was surprising considering the number of posts

    Can't you just uses boards search function?

    Search a thread for *:* and then sort the posts by most thanked.
