Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Ìncreasing stakes as planned for rest of the season. Also have a free €25 bet thanks to PP's acca insurance at the weekend. MBS on the Man Utd game if it ends in a draw so four €2.75 FGS singles, a €2.75 FGS Yankee (including my free bet so a cost of €5.25) and a €13.75 anytime accum for total cost of €30.

    Swansea v Toure @ 13/2 and 9/5
    Suarez v Hull @ 2/1 and 3/10
    Stoke v Lukaku @ 9/2 and 13/10
    Rooney v Tottenham @ 4/1 and evens

Happy New Year! May it be a prosperous and healthy one

Are you using PP for all your bets?

Yeah, started with them out of convenience as I was actually doing it more for a bit of fun to begin with. I am a believer in shopping around though. Had planned to start using Oddschecker best prices for second half of season but as I had the freebie it was best to stick with PP this week. Difference of over a hundred points between best price (Betvictor) and PP (3rd best) for the FGS four-fold tomorrow but the free bet more than covers that difference.

Yep, I find PP to be horrible on anytimes and FGS. Bet365 are consistently better than PP, usually have anytime prices better than PP wincasts. If I were you I'd defo change, losing loads of value to Paddy!

Another bad round. Two scorers but neither getting the first goal so a loss of €30.

Thought for the day: Have picked Lukaku a handful of times and think he is the only one who has not scored for my log so far.

The current top four scorers are Suarez, Aguero, Remy and Toure. The latter three all involved in same match tomorrow reducing me to only two possible selections. I have done two €7.50 FGS singles, a €7.50 FGS double and a €7.50 anytime double.

Had previously been using just PP but for second half but going to take it more seriously and use best prices. The below are from Ladbrokes. I will be basing best price on total return should all bets be winners as I don't want to be depositing small amounts here and there and would rather just make one deposit of the full €30. So in some cases the single may be better elsewhere eg this week Ladbrokes are best on the FGS double and Toure FGS but there is better available on Suarez FGS and the anytime double. However, the total return from Ladbrokes is better than the total from anywhere else.

    Newcastle v Toure @ 8/1 and 5/2
    Stoke v Suarez @ 11/4 and 1/2

Suarez scores the first (actually the second goal but first was an OG) but still a small loss of €1.87. ROI keeps hitting record lows every week. Need to start notching up some wins.

Current top four is Suarez followed by Aguero in second with Remy, Sturridge and Toure all tied for third. However, with two Liverpool and two City players I am reduced to only three selections. So this week an FGS patent and an anytime treble. Signed up with Coral and they gave me free €21 bet after I placed the patent so have 2 x €3 FGS patents and a €9 anytime accum.

    Aguero v Cardiff @ 3/1 and 8/13
    West Ham v Remy @ 5/1 and 5/4
    Suarez v Aston Villa @ 9/4 and 1/2

Another losing week. Two players scoring but neither getting the first. Aguero didn't start so was a non-runner for the FGS bet leaving a loss of €27. Another new low on the ROI front.

Two of your 3 selection score (plus a void) and its still a loser?

Harsh man, you tempted to tweak system?

Well the non-runner was actually a winner :pac: Aguero didn't start when the first goal was scored so is classed as a non-runner for the first goal market but when he did come on he scored so was a winner in the anytime market. Only one who didn't score was the banker Suarez

I'll stick with the current system. I was actually confident of getting a good return from those three selections at the weekend. So goes to show my own selections are rubbish and I'm better off using a set formula.

Totally agree that to be successful in this game you need to stick to a formula and leave your heart at the door. Kind of like Arnold Schwarzenegger placing a bet!

As with last round due to players on same teams in top five I'm reduced to three selections. €3 FGS patent and €9 anytime accum with Ladbrokes.

    Norwich v Remy @ 9/2 and 5/4
    Suarez v Everton @ 5/2 and 4/7
    Tottenham v Aguero @ 9/2 and 6/5

Don't mean to moan again at ya man, but two winners out of 3 including a 1st goalscorer and it still doesn't turn profit, i;d really look at changing the system....

It seems to be skewed towards the accumulator. If all three don't score you will probably make a loss. I might have to agree with Walnuts here!

Think I may be starting to agree with you. I may drop the anytime part. I thought it might be a handy insurance and has come in twice when only one or two have got first goal. Will have a look at this to see where I can maximise profit over next couple of weeks. Too busy this week so will stick with the regular formula for now.

Players from two teams make up the top four so only two possible selections. Have done four €7.50 bets - two FGS singles, an FGS double and an anytime double. Bets with Paddy Power and money back on City game if Eto'o scores.

    West Brom v Suarez @ 3/1 and 4/7
    Aguero v Chelsea @ 4/1 and evens

Ah balls. I even watched him come off the other night and knew that. As I said been a busy week and just rushed into this. Anyway money is down so at least will be getting something back. Will be slightly annoyed if Toure scores now.

ROI: +23.2%...lower and lower each week

Thinking of expanding beyond top four as currently with top four I am only getting two or three players. Bigger potential profit but more risk this way. Crazy in work at the moment so probably won;t get around to it (hence the late update) but will try get time to figure something out. Think I'm on a seven or week consecutive losing streak. Will count that up as well when I get time.

Suarez is playing a different role right now, esp against the likes of Everton and Arsenal he is being asked to drop deeper, and push wide so Sturridge is the man in the middle, until that changes I'd stick with Stu over Luis.

Rushing to get this on before KO of Chelsea game so didn't get chance to check teams. I believe Aguero is back today so have thrown him in instead of Toure. €3 FGS patent and €9 anytime treble with Bet 365.

    Aguero v Stoke @ 3/1 and 4/6
    Sturridge v Swansea @ 4/1 and evens

Just reread the article I was looking at yesterday. I missed the word "soon" in the sentence "Aguero is due back soon". Just hope Toure doesn't score now. Only got home few minutes before Chelsea match so didn't have time to check.

Hazard draws a blank, Aguero a non-runner and Sturridge scores the first. Profit of €3. Annoyed with myself making a schoolboy error regarding Aguero not playing and missing another winner in Toure but I'll learn not to do all nighters and logging on at last minute to do a bet without checking line-ups.

Top four consists of two Liverpool players and two City players. City in Capital One Cup Final so only one selcetion available. Was going to split stake down the middle ie €15 FGS single and €15 anytime single but Bet365 are top price in both markets. They do unlimited places at 1/3 odds for first goal bets and a place here would pay more than an anytime winner...so €15 e/w first goal scorer bet.

    Southampton v Sturridge @ 5/1

Top scorers at the moment are Suarez, Sturridge and Aguero in 1st-3rd and Hazard, Remy and Toure tied for fourth. Liverpool playing United so being a United fan I am not betting on Suarez or Sturridge. :o Aguero and Remy out injured so those six players have been reduced to only two possibles for me. Two €7.50 FGS singles, €7.50 FGS double and €7.50 anytime double. Bets this week with Coral.

This is my lowest point in terms of both profit and ROI since I started. I think the aim now is just to stay in profit. Will continue until I am in the red and then quit as it's obviously failing. Had a bit of fun with it and probably stopped me doing random accums etc at weekend so not overly disappointed although I had hoped to get a full house of scorers - as optimistic/misguided as that hope was. Anyway, have at least another two rounds of fxtures to play with before I'm losing.

I know I posted here last night but can't see it now. Must not have hit submit.
Four bets with stake of €7.50 consisting of two FGS singles, an FGS double and an anytime double. All with Boyles who pay double odds on the singles if the goal is scored in the first twenty minutes.

I backed these last night and am in work at the moment so not 100% certain what the odds were as can't check bookies sites from here but believe the below are accurate.

    Arsenal v Toure @ 13/2 and 11/5
    Sturridge v Tottenham @ 7/2 and 11/10

Bets placed just before KO of City v Southampton and as I type Toure scores a penalty. Unfortunately didn't back him this week. Fancied taking a punt with higher odds player. Only two selections due to players involved in same matches or injured. For some reason I have a €12.10 free bet with BetVictor so have used that for my anytime double and done two €10 FGS singles and €10 FGS double.

    Manchester City v Jay Rodriguez @ 12/1 and 31/10

    Manchester City v Jay Rodriguez @ 12/1 and 31/10
    West Ham v Suarez @ 10/3 and 4/6

Neither player getting on the scoresheet so loss of €30.

Currently six players on 15 goals or more putting them in the top four. However, Suarez, Sturridge, Aguero and Toure are all involved in the same match, Rodriguez is injured and Rooney doesn't have a game so only one selection available. Have done €15 FGS single and same stake anytime bet. Money back as a free bet on the FGS bet if City win. Bets with Paddy Power.

    Liverpool v Toure @ 17/2 and 23/10

This system seemed to work best at the start of the season, but as the season went on and the timelines got longer the bets started losing.

Have you considered only taking the last 8 games into consideration so that you are picking form players?

No goal from Toure and for second week running I give a player the kiss of death by backing him, seing an early goal by the opposition and then that player hobbling off before the 20th minute.

That actually sounds like a good shout. I do think I could do better if I could get back to four selections each week and a Lucky 15 as would only need two out of four to make a profit. All of my earlier season bets consisted of four but current system not allowing it. Should be back to three selections anyway this weekend.

I'm currently up to neck in work so also don't really get time to research my bets any more. Haven't had a serious bet on football in a couple of months as I haven't had chance to look at anything. Did get some time to review the Masters last week though, thankfully.

My only aim now is to get to end of season in profit. If I'm in profit by end of season I'll continue on next season and have a look at adjusting system. If even one cent in the red I'll quit. Will continue on until then anyhow. Being optimistic, I suppose I can look at the dire run I've had since Xmas and be happy that overall I've never been in negative. Two more weeks guaranteed before that happens.

Three selections this week. Bets with Coral. Oddschecker crashed on me but the couple of minutes I got it looked like they were best prices. €3 FGS patent adn €9 anytime treble.

    Norwich v Suarez @ 11/4 and 4/7
    Everton v Rooney @ 9/2 and 6/5
    Aguero v West Brom @ 3/1 and 8/11

Rooney let me down for the anytime treble but neither of the other two scored the first so loss of €30.

Lowest point in terms of cash profit and ROI. Could be about to hit a loss for the first time this weekend.

Waited to put these bets on in case Sturridge was a starter. Just two available selections this weekend. Four bets of €7.50 each. Two FGS singles, an FGS double and an anytime double. Was hoping that Toure would be confirmed as a starter but everything I've read points to the fact that he will play. Bets with 888 today. Need at least one winning bet to keep me in profit.

    Suarez v Chelsea @ 13/4 and evens
    Crystal Palace v Toure @ 13/2 and 21/10

Well it has been coming since Xmas. Toure scores the second but Suarez doesn't score at all (but as a United fan quite happy to lose this particular bet). Loss of €30 to leave me in the red for the first time. Reading back to my first post the hope was to have one big win without losing too much overall. Might continue in that hope.

Will play last two rounds of the season and if in profit will continue next season. If still in the red I'll review but might continue in hope of that one big win. I'm actually happy enough doing these bets as I have stopped doing random bets on other things just "for an interest".

Four bets of €7.50 each. Two FGS singles, an FGS double and an anytime double. Bets done with Bet365. Ladbrokes have better prices but was having issues with their deposit page so have gone for next best. A difference of three points between the two if all bets come in.

    Everton v Toure @ 6/1 and 8/5
    Crystal Palace v Suarez @ 10/3 and 5/6
