Jaysus, I assume you've lived in the urban jungle all your life?

Some of the bumpkins around where I grew up (South Tipp) are so ****ing backward it's unbelievable.

I'm talking about the sort of people who've never left the county. let alone been anywhere 'out foreign'...they still point at planes in amazement, where i'm from!

I wanted to say "Ahh come on man, that doesn't happen!", but then I remembered a couple of years back a mate of mine she called me, in a fierce state of excitement she was telling me "Two black lads in a car, they came up the driveway, no, seriously, they did! They must have been lost?", I hate to think she meant they drove all the way from Africa and got lost, but with this girl there's a certain amount of "Bite your tongue, don't say it!"...

Same girl when I told her Madonna and Angelina Jolie picked up their babies in the Tesco baby aisle... for a minute she looked at me as if I was serious!

She's from North Tipp though, not South, great fun though!

Apologies SamAK Irish-bumpkin-inexperienced foreigner here! I really thought people were joking saying this stuff. Funnily enough I grew up in a countryside myself but there was never a chat of anybody bringing tractors and sheep and cows etc. Guess the culchies I was in touch with on a regular basis were still bit sophisticated... :P

I wouldn't generalise like that...there are as many backward people in cities as there are in the country.
